Hi All, A grandchild visit reminded me of three wonderful kids/adults movies that no grandparent will regret watching. No. 1 ... The Princess Bride .. the classic fairy tail .. music by Mark Knopfler and, probably the best Grandparent/Parent/Child movie ever. (Mind you modern parents may think it should be Transformers !) No. 2 .. The Never Ending Story ... Nothing better to enhance your child's imagination. Forget the sequels ! No 3 .. Err .. No 3 ... err ... can't quite remember it ... check back later. Anyway, here's No. 2 ... BT available from Tony Kiek ( www.turningpointcd.com ) The Never Ending Story .. www.box.net/shared/20rrp6c6dhAll comments welcome cheers George PS. Tony assures me no cardboard boxes were harmed in the making of this !

Hiya. Never had any children myself - any woman insane enough to put up with me is not to be trusted to look after children, right? - however, I am an Uncle. You can't go wrong with the old animated Disney classics - Jungle Book, Winnie The Pooh etc. My niece & nephew are big Tigger fans and love the Bear Necessities song... and so do my sister, Mum and Dad, so I'd say they are two great examples of grandparent/parent/favourite Uncle /kids films. Watership Down's quite a good one, too... I'm afraid I find some of the new stuff a bit like the new Bond films. They try too hard to be modern and 'PC'. Bond films should always be like they were in the 60s, with a variation on the plot and kids films should be fun without any deep moral meaning. They both should be a two hour break from the real world, that's all. Getting off my (not cardboard) box. Cheers, Julian PS., almost forgot, loved the tune, by the way. Great sound, great playing. Never ceases to amaze me how you chaps get that modern sound, much nicer and more difficult than the older sounds.

Hi Julian, Rod and Chris, Thanks chaps, much appreciated. The tone is basically from tone control on the bridge pup. The overdriven break is just a quick change to another patch on the MS.
Julian, I'll put both those on the list ... never actually saw any of the Disney Pooh movies ... though the books were constantly read. I remember the highlight of kindergarten (is that what it's called in UK ? kids 5- 8) when I was a young "Tigger" (fair while ago), was our teacher settling us down and reading another episode of Pooh. Wonderful stories.

Hi George By gosh, that takes me back a few years. I can remember when it was my kids favourite film (starring I believe Noah Hathaway). They are now well grown up in their mid 30s !!!
Always likes the title theme, and you have certainly done it proud. Great job.
Cheers Richard

Hi Rosemary and John, Thanks for listening and your generous comments. It is a tune that translates well into an instro, especially for those familiar with the movie ... Hi John, As mentioned in post 4, it's a Strat (in this case homemade Partscaster with Tonerider vintage pups.) with tone control on the bridge pup. I think this is a vital for the modern sound and the 1st thing I do to any newly acquired Strat. Echo/effects from a Magicstomp with Charlie's EFTP and amp simulation from Korg AX3 Toneworks. Direct into Audacity for recording and editing. cheers George
