Hi I recorded 'Wonderful Land' the other day when trying 'The Savage' so will post it while I still have the Magic Stomp unit very kindly on loan. It doesn't have as many mistakes as 'The Savage' and it's been awhile since I recorded it. It's played through a Mexican Strat with a Magic Stomp with EFTP and Roland MicroCube amp. www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1lpT50CExsBest wishes Rosemary

Hi Rosemary,
Enjoyed your rendition of Wonderful Land, well played with a nice guitar tone. I like the colour of your strat - is it metallic blue?
Regards,
Rod

Hi Rod Thanks for your nice comments. The Magic Stomp as used in this video is better than my Zoom unit though the Zoom is fine for my playing level. The Strat is a metallic green colour but I saturated the colours just to make the video look perhaps slightly more interesting for variety Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Rosemary, Just shows how far you have come in a short time, well done. Don't forget you can use trem downwards for effect especially in W/L.

I CAN play all of the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Hi Rosemary. Your rendition of Wonderful Land was "Wonderful". After checking this out on YouTube I watched the Gary Taylor videos. I wish I could borrow him for my little debut gig this Saturday .......I am sure I recognise him from the bands Fox and Yellow Dog! All the Best (your repertoire is growing!) John.

Hi Rosemary, I'm not sure how long you've been playing but from previous posts it seems that it's not all that long, but I must say you have made fantastic progress not only in your playing but a great sound as well. Please keep posting, I always have a look to see how your doing. Best wishes John

Hi Rosemary, The great progress continues, this tune is being played by a guitarist now rather than a learner Good sounds from your MIM and magic Stomp combo. Kind regards, Chris

Hi Keith, Pete, John, John, Roger and Chris Thanks very much for listening and I'm glad it's now sounding better. It's been about two and a half years since I started and I've been practising this one since the beginning (though I was playing it in the wrong position the first six months or so). John: In case you missed any on YouTube, there are more videos of Gary on our club's website at www.brisbaneshadowsplayers.com/home/our-ninth-meetingand www.brisbaneshadowsplayers.com/home/gary-taylorThanks again Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Rosemary, Thanks for the links to Gary's videos. I wish we had a Shads club as good as yours but our weekly guitar club is mainly acoustic and electric blues based which I do play, but I'm the only Shads player there !!! Anyway, thanks again, keep going and I look forward to seeing your next number. All the Best, John.

Hi Rosemary, A deceptively difficult tune to get right ... especially as per the Shads' original tune. You now have the flavour and it just needs a bit more practice, stirring, mixing, concocting and incantations. Your grabbing and release of the trem arm is excellent ... keep up the practice on using it. I have a Green MIM Strat like yours .. it's under the bed ... not used much these days but a lovely guitar to play. Regards George

Thanks very much John, George and Ian George: there seem to be a couple of cracks appearing in the paintwork of the green Strat I'll have to look at soon. Best wishes Rosemary

Hi BillyB and Richard Thanks very much for your encouraging comments. I'm currently practising on a Squier with lighter strings, no amp and a trem that needs some sort of adjustment but think I'll be able to readjust Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Mike and Pippo Thanks very much for your nice comments. I was fairly happy with the sound and my playing on this one as far as my current ability goes but unfortunately couldn't replicate it on stage when I played it last weekend and messed up one bar when nerves got the better of me. It's one I've been playing the longest but I'll still need lots more practice so that even if the roof caved in I'd be able to play it without mistakes A very happy Christmas to you both and thanks again Best wishes Rosemary
