I have a tonelab in conjuction with an Atomic reactor amp but as I've only just got it I need a bit of time to get used to it. But it does seem a lot easier than Line 6 podxt

Hi Brian,
I have and like both the smaller Tonelabs, the LE and the desktop but I'm playing around with the Pod XT Pro at the minute basically because it's a rack unit but I do enjoy using it.
Also on the Pod Pro are sims of two Matchless amps and cabs, which is something different to try as well.
Cheers Barry

Hi Brian, I'm not sure it should be necessary for a separate section. I think a thread running right here should suffice. Regards, Charlie

Hi Brian,
The only acoustic guitar I have is one of the latest Taylor T5s and I have to admit it's more for decoration than anything. Still it is a beautiful guitar to look at.

Hi All
I have the desktop version of Tonelab and I find it does everything perfectly, however in a quest for something the same but different,if that makes sense,I would welcome some comments on the Pod Pro and how the sounds compare with a Tonelab.
Considering it has a Matchless emulation, comments on that would be realy interesting.

Ha ha, No Barry, what I meant was a tonelab setting that would emulate an accoustic guitar sound from our strat type axe's.
I have tried the pedal one with the neck pup but somehow it just doesn't quite cut it. cheers

I find I get a better sound with the middle pickup when going for an acoustic emulated type sound. I suppose it depends on what you're aiming for though. Regards, Charlie

One problem I have, when using the AC15 or AC30 amp/speaker combinations is that the valve distortion or breakup effect seems overly done. If I strike the strings quite firmly, that overloaded effect kicks in when I'd rather it didn't. Does anyone know which control, if any, dictates at what stage this breaking up or crumbly sound kicks in - or is it just the nature of the valve that's built into the device? I recently played through a club member's AC30 twin speaker amp and even when I whacked the strings with the amp turned up pretty loud, there was no sign of valve break-up kicking in - but I appreciate this may have nothing to do with the Tonelab's own valve or its tube amp simulation effects.

From memory the gain control sets the drive level. Most of my settings on the Vox models were at around 3. Also make sure that the Tonelab isn't overdriving whatever you have it connected to. Regards, Charlie

I receive similar emails regularly from Alex and one or two other contacts too. They are harmless enough but you have to be careful because a virus email can appear to be from someone you know, and that person did not actually send it. Regards, Charlie

Thanks for that Charlie.
With the possible virus problem in mind, it was the words "send this recipe to as many people as you know" that worried me.
