All Charlie has asked that I make the following announcement on his behalf. Due to increased workload & recent on-site issues Charlie has decided to take a well deserved rest from the forums. The site will continue as Charlie Hall & Friends, it will remain Charlie's site which I am sure we all agree is the way it should be. Myself & the other admin staff will be taking more responsibility for the site, so day to day decisions will be made by the admin team on Charlie's behalf. Charlie will be kept fully informed of what has been happening on site, Charlie is the boss & will always remain so. Charlie will be away for months rather than weeks, maybe longer? He will still pop in from time to time but for the foreseeable future will not be heavily involved in the running of the site. The whole purpose of these changes is to take part of a huge workload off Charlie's shoulders, this huge workload is far too much for one person to endure. I would like to ask all members to please respect Charlie's decision to take a well deserved rest to allow him to re-charge his batteries. Please do not send Charlie Private Messages concerning the site, or personal messages wishing him well, although he appreciates the concern, Private Messages need to be replied to so every goodwill message adds to his workload. Any questions concerning the site should be directed to myself or other member of the admin team. Please also refrain from posting questions on-site directed toward Charlie, any questions to Charlie will be answered by a staff member on Charlie's behalf. In some cases posts may be deleted? If there is something important that Charlie should know about please contact a staff member, if it cannot be dealt with by the admin team it will then be passed on to Charlie. I hope you all understand the reasons for the above changes? I want to be the first to say to Charlie, enjoy your rest mate, you deserve it. Robert (EDIT) I would also like to re-assure members that the site will continue to be run Charlie's way. We are all friends here & we must not lose that as it's kinda special

Sense prevails at last.
Charlie has given everything to this site and he needs to know that it can run without his intervention,so I hope everyone will take notice of the message above, and give Charlie the space and time he needs to recover.
I have known Charlie for many years and I know he will still be thinking about the site.
Please, let's not give him any reason to worry about it,and let's prove, not only to Charlie, but to ourselves that we can be trusted to look after the site untill Charlie returns.
Best wishes to everyone.
Alan

Hi all, I am absolutely certain Charlie has made the right decision to stand back from the forums, at least for a while. It is the best possible solution, and will mean the site's future is guaranteed. There are plenty of knowledgable members, (and the administrators), who will be able to take a more active role. Regarding the Hall & Collins echo unit - the work continues unchanged. There has been a minor delay (not Charlie's fault) as we changed one of the major components in the design, and it required me to re-write some of the software! That's done now, but we are still unsure of the exact date the manufacturing will be completed, and of the final cost. Rest assured, we will post regular updates on progress. In the meantime, expressions of interest can still be posted in Charlie's original thread thread. Charlie and I appreciate all the encouragement and support for the unit, and we are still very excited about it's potential!
Regards to all, John Collins

It's a relief to know that things have worked out well for everyone. All the best to Charlie, hoping that he will look in from time to time to see what is going on. I have a question for John (Collins) . . . Will there be any more news here regarding the progress of the new echo, and particularly, will there be any new sound samples in addition to the ones Charlie has already posted? Regards, Bojan

Hi Bojan, Yes, there will definitely be updates on the progress of the H & C echo unit posted here. When the final enclosure design is decided, we will be able to post photographs of that. The plan is to eventually publish technical specifications, sound samples, photos etc on a web site. Probably we won't be recording any new sound samples in the imediate future (we'll give Charlie a little break from that as well!) Instead, Charlie and I will be concentrating our efforts on completeing the patches, and finalising the hardware layout, and we are still hoping to be in production before the end of this year.
Regards, John

Hi Robert
Glad to hear that Charlie is taking a well earned rest from the forums, he has done so much that I am sure people will be only too pleased to let him enjoy this period in peace.
Thanks to you and the rest of the team for keeping things running as before.
Charlie: if you do get around to reading this thread, I wish to thank you for all the years of help and motivation that you given me, your concept and the running of this site has been brilliant.
Best wishes
Gary

As a postscript, (only for those following the wider story), Clive asked me to let others know he and Peter have come to an amicable agreement and patched up their differences. Nice to see goodwill from both has prevailed. If Charlie ever reads this he will see that he did in fact resolve that particular issue .... just took a bit more huffing and puffing than he hoped . No need for anyone else to comment on this post thanks. Both Clive and Peter want this consigned to history, so "nuff said". cheers George

Charlie made a titanic duty on this site. I always asked myself how did he manage to give his kind attention to everyone.
Surely he deserves to take distance and charge batteries.
The best for you until you'll back, Charlie and thanks!!!

I'm mainly a reader of this site and like to keep up with what's going on especially regarding the new echo unit but I've often wonderd how Charlie manages to run his business, do other things and spend a lot of time on this site as it has grown over the years.
We all need a break from the routine of everyday life and business so I hope Charlie can relax a little more now and deal with the many other things he must have going on in his life.

As a new member of this community, I would send every good wish to Charlie for a restful time away from the forums.
After seeing Charlie's mentioned many times on YouTube as the originator of some of the best Hank Marvin Fender Strat sounds I've ever heard, I have been on the lookout for an effects pedal which is on your list suitable for running EFTP.
I've just bought a Zoom G2.1u, and I'm just getting the feel of it and it seems a really interesting bit of kit. The first job will be to load the EFTP patches on board if I can, so can you supply them please?
I originally sent an email to Charlie last Saturday, but was unaware of Charlie's situation at that time. Thanks in advance for any help given.
