Hi Tony,
Excellent stuff and very enjoyable.
I never can decide whether the Shads' original version or this later and (musically) more interesting version is "the one". For a performer it probably depends on the audience and their memories ... Lately (playing mostly in Retirement Villages so I can check out the options !) I gravitate towards a combo of the two ..
cheers George

Hi Tony That turned out to be a really enjoyable listen. Top marks to you for playing and putting this all together. I must admit I have not heard this version of "Sleepwalk" before and I was quite pleasantly surprised at how it sounded.WELL DONE All the Best Pete

Caddyshak6, the version you like seems to use the BT of the John Skelton version
I have been playing Sleepwalk since the early 60's and have listened to dozens of versions since i came to California 35 years ago but i still like Skelton's version the best (of course after Hank's:). I think Phil McGarrick had a hand in that version too. I came across these two gentlemen on the web. I am not sure if they are known to this forum since I have not been here long. Tino
Note: John Skelton's version is available on Youtube for anyone interested. George

Hi George I have listened and watched both Phil and John recordings, and both are very good, also along with his son, Phil does make some very good BT's, however this version did originate from Hank & Ben Marvin, I think the show was called "The Strat Pack" www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FtiOIgxxqU although Hank has been doing a variation of this stile since the "Final Tour" as far as I know cant remember where the BT came from, I have a feeling it was Goran's Regards Tony

Hi Tony, Whoops .. I suspect you think I am the originator of Tino's post !!!
My comments added to his post were as a moderator as Tino had included a Youtube link to John Skeltons' version which as they say in the UK "ain't cricket".
The BT was included as a freebie from a Guitar Magazine .. widely available .. even I have done a version with it !
Cheers George

Hi George, I Am sorry if I broke the rules by attaching a link. For us yanks, can you please elaborate on the Cricket and does it have anything to do with the removal of the link? Thanks Tino

Hi Tino, No problem ... I did send you a PM (personal message) as this thread is about Tony's Sleepwalk version and posting other versions is a bit of a hijack ;D The site rules and posting guidelines explain it better. Cheers George

I am very sorry especially for Tony. I wrongly thought the version he included was From a third party. My apologies Tony and BTW, I do like your version very much. Tino

Thanks guys for the comments and the fun over what version it was. Tino, cricket has nothing to do with any post, it is a saying in the U.K. if something is not quite right we say "that's not cricket" it refers to not being fair, as cricket is considered a game played by gentlemen, although after the past few weeks, the Aussies might not agree.... must go, bad light stopping play...... sorry George
