Hi,
A completely other question.. My dad still has his (very) old SHads & cliff singles and LP collection.. The vinyl itself is topnotch (how did he manage that? well, he bought a special "keep-your-singles-in-good-shape-case" 50 years ago ;-) ), the covers sometimes a disaster, but most good condition .
The stories on the covers are really nice ("the young 19-year old Hank Marvin blablabla..).
But, he was wondering on the value of his stuff. I doubt there is something really rare or so, but is there something which we should keep an extra eye on, something of real value which we should keep (extra) save?
This collection will never be sold, so it isn't a issue on money, but on rarity.
ANy suggestions ?

First of all i would get them all copied on to tape or transferred on to CD. They are probably worth some thing to Shadows collectors but i suspect not that much to the run of the mill music buffs. Its hard to put a price on these. For example i have a 1957 LP of Buddy Holly in reasonable condition. It was valued at a major music fare for between £25 and £35.
The anorak collectors do insist on the album sleeves being in mint condition as this will dictate the selling price.
