HI ALL ,, I did as I said & remove'd the cover of my ''holy''Q2, with charlies 79-09 patch-set & checked to see if that above mod was performed and it has NOT been done , but I had forgotten another little mod that it has is a bridging wire from D2 -TO-pin 12 of -U3.!!! & pin 12 has had the board connection cut ? U3 has something to do with ''reset'' as well ,as I remember this is a mod after seeing it in this Q2 that I performed in my second one as well prior to loading any patches etc in this second Q2 I have the''echotapper'' patch set & they both do not give any trouble with losing data,etc...,In the next day or two I will post a picture of this mod which is not in the service manual either? ? CHEERS........... barry..

Hi Barry, I have seen several that have had that mod done. I'm not sure whether it was as a result of a mistake in the board layout? I'll send you the pic I took so you can see both mods. The board is a revision A, not sure how rev C differs without ever having compared them. Regards, Charlie

HI charlie ,paul & all ,,, here are the pic's of the little mod , as I can see from the schematic it just derives the 5v supply from the connection of d2 & board ,deleting the pin 12's original supply from the CE pin of U1??? this board of mine is an rev-A board!!! the other pic is showing the large capacity ''swiss-renata-lithium-battery'' available from ''jaycar-electronic's'' CHEERS ...........barry.. [ps] I deleted pic's untill I confirm with charlie!!!!!

Hi Barry, No problem with posting the pics. I know that you are concerned that one or more owners might be tempted to do the mod. I would say don't touch it until someone who knows these units has confirmed that any mod is the right thing to do. Regards, Charlie

Hi Roger and Alan,
Thanks for your messages, I have e-mailed the circuit mods and a diagram of where the components are located.
Regards,
Paul.
