Took a few days longer than the estimated delivery time but big relief when it arrived safe and sound.
Cheers Phil

Hi Sheendigs - Yes I'm working on an old 12 String tune at the moment Lol
Hi Baz - I thought I'd cleaned it all up until the puppy went in there and found the polystyrene I'd missed.
Cheers Phil

Looks great Phil!
It seems you didn't get the same hassle as I did a couple of months ago, I ordered a 1961 SG Special from Norman's Rare Guitars USA, they sent me a 1963 by mistake, I payed £500 inport duty etc, the guitar took two days to get to Cardiff and two weeks to get to me! USPS messed me about quite a lot. The guitar was sent back, I had to pay another £500 import duty when the 61 came, but had to get export proof to reclaim my first £500 from Customs, USPS couldn't find any documentation, well not for a couple of weeks and with me phoning them nearly every day, I had to phone Normans so that they could give me ref numbers on the box!
Anyway, I look forward to hearing yours.
Phil

Thanks guys glad you like the 21 year old - It's in great condition for it's age and sounds terrific. Steve yes Iv'e run out of wall space in my living room unless I creep into the wife's side. Phil - sorry to hear about the hassle you had - The import Tax is a real nuisance - I thought if the sender declared it as a gift and it wasn't new or from a dealer, then you would be exempt. But not so The customs charge on everything over £30 value, new or old and the amount you pay depends on the value of the article. Thing is all guitars are cheaper in the USA so usually you still get a better deal than buying one from the UK - If you can find one that is. Cheers Phil

Lovely guitar Phil, I wish you many years of pleasure from it and I presume that your son will find a use for it in his backing tracks.
Regards,
Jim.

Thanks Jim & Chris - I've been playing it through my acoustic amp today and it really sounds great. I'm sure if we can find the right song it will be handy for Andrews BT's. The truss rod cover is a special plate that is meant to be engraved with your name as the owner. Andrew my son has already asked me just to put my surname on there... No what's he planning. Lol
Cheers Phil

Hi Phil,
Looks like an absolute beauty. Gibson do make beautiful acoustics and the J200 is a very special guitar. I just bought a new guitar as well, I probably won't do an unpacking video but I might put a few pics up. It's a totally different animal to your acoustic but just as stunning IMO.

What an absolute beauty!! Is that the same model that you borrowed for your video? What a mess too - Julie is very understanding. Good job you have your pup to help find the bits you missed. Looking forward to seeing it in action. Cheers Ian

Thanks guys for your replies. Kevin - I'll look out for pics of new guitar as the t-shirt says "you can never have too many guitars" With the customs I agree you have to be careful -I was so chuffed on two occasions I bought 2 nice guitars from the USA while on holiday and brought them back on the plane and walked straight through the "nothing to declare" at the airport. I think they have tightened up their security since - They wouldn't let me take spare guitar strings on one occasion as they told me they could be used for garotting. Ian - Yes it's the same model as I used for the solo on "Sealed with a kiss" which I borrowed from my friend. In the YouTube description I mentioned I loved the guitar but my friend wont sell it to me. I got an email from a fellow YT player Dan in the USA who I know well saying he had one and was willing to sell it. I couldn't believe my luck as only 17 were ever made. Yesterday my friend visited with his J200 12 and I took some photos of the 2 guitars together. Cheers Phil
