Hi Everyone, I haven't had the chance to try out this new echo with other pedals yet , so i'd like to know if any of you have had some experience.....I mean , how does it behave when driving it with OD/Dist./Booster pedals......? I've heard that it has a mosfet based preamp and they sometimes get distorted in a nasty way. I'd really like to hear some comments if anyone have tried the H&C with overdrive and etc. pedals in front of it........? Cheers, Jyrki

Hi Jyrki, To put your mind at rest, there are no mosfets in the Hall & Collins Signature Echo. Please go ahead and try any overdrive/distortion pedal between the guitar and the Hall & Collins echo input. I think you will find it will distort in a similar way to an old valve amp that has a grounded cathode first stage (it was designed to act exactly the same!), and if you manage to exceed the headroom you should hear soft clipping. Regards, Charlie

Hi Jyrki, I used it last night with delight. My pedal board consists of: Samson Airline wireless system, Morley Volume/Wah/Distortion, Akai Compressor, Boss OD2, Boss CE2, Hall & Collins Signature Echo. The Compressor and OD2 are linked through a Boss NS2 Noise Supressor to cut out any noise from them. The H&CSE was excellent with the OD2 or with both Compressor and OD2. Previous to it I was using a Boss DD-20 for my echoes as you can store different settings. With Charlie and John's pedal you can store 64 settings in the user banks and still have 64 preset banks.
Regards,
Jim.
