Hi Tonnie, I don't have access to my unit right now but I think P27 is a standard speed Meazzi tape echo patch with 3 heads whereas Hank used a slower running Meazzi tape echo. Regards, Charlie

Alright Charly But then I still do not understand why the ZOOM G5 This patch is assigned to the song The Frightened City Patch 03-3, which also represents the Maezzi, also it has three heads. On your list of Hall & Collins is the same number as indicated patch P03. Can (if you want) to give me an explanation for this question. Would you show me some things can explain the difference between these two. And it still does not answer my first question. Hope to answer . Greettings Tonnie

Hi Tonnie, There have been many different Meazzi echo units. The H&C patch P27 is for a tape echo, whereas the original echo Hank used for Frightened City was a drum/wheel type with different head spacings. Please ask about anything else if you want. Regards, Charlie

Hi Tonnie, Until the Hall & Collins unit, which John and I designed to re-create the original echo sounds as accurately as possible, the other units all have limitations that are or were frustrating for me. They can sound OK, some better than others in my view, but I know the technical limitations of all of them. The Hall & Collins Signature Echo is the first unit I have been involved with where I do not feel the echo sounds have been limited by the technology. Patch P27 of the Hall & Collins unit is for a normal speed Meazzi tape echo that the owner at the time allowed me to take measurements from. He later sold it to someone else I know and so I still know this machine very well. But it is not a machine that Hank owned so that is why it does not appear in the tune lists. Hank's unit ran about 10% slower. His unit was used on Tonight and The High And The Mighty, maybe on a few others I have either forgotten for now, or don't know about. Regards, Charlie

Hello Charlie Thank you for the patience you had with me to explain a few things. I now have a little better understanding about some things. Have a small question to you. Is it possible (because I practice a lot behind the PC) with a Miditech Guitar Face II to work through the usb. Or do I have too much loss ,An H & C ECHO If I decide to purchase one. Thanks Charlie for your reply. Greets and have a fine weekend. Tonnie

Hi Tonnie, A direct connection through such a unit as the Miditech unit is OK, but you will not have the room acoustics with a direct connection as you would with a guitar amplifier and a microphone, but that can lead to other problems of course. Still, with a direct connection, you will have the convenience of not annoying anyone else, and you can do all kinds of things to process the sound further if you want. Regards, Charlie
