Hello Charlie Now that your echo unit has been tested by some of our members, would Hank be trying on of your units in the near future? Sheendigs

Is that in reference to something that Mike wrote??
Since the release of this remarkable creation the feedback on 'Charlie Hall & Friends' is demonstrating unswervingly high praise for the unit itself, the unit's developers and the quality of delivery from the manufacturers. This is indeed a seminal moment in the history of 'The Shadows' and deserves to be acknowledged as such. Accepting this to be true, I feel it is only fitting that Hank now becomes involved, for this may be the final chapter in the history of the emulation of 'those sounds' we all have come to know and love.
This is what Charlie answered:
Hi Mike, Only Hank can decide if he wants to be involved in some way. Who knows what could happen?
I wanted just to know if Hank had heard about the unit and would like to test it, sorry perhaps I put it the wrong way. SHeendigs

Hi Sheendigs, just my personal opinion of course but Hank is really focused on gypsey jazz these days so I doubt whether he would even try the unit as I cant see him picking up a strat again anytime soon also he seems pretty happy with tvs3 and the support for those units Is just down the road to him.

I don't think Hank will be making much from Gypsy Jazz so if he needs a few bob he will Definately reach for a Strat.
I think he may be tempted to do one last album but with due respect he is getting on a bit.

I suspect Steve is right. Hank has left his unique stamp on history whereas we, in our separate ways, remain grateful to the Master and have chosen to perpetuate his wonderful legacy. Hank has now moved on and, while he is still able, who can blame him. By exploring different musical genres he is facing new and exciting challenges and, by so doing, is keeping his enthusiasm alive. I'm quite sure we would do the same if we possessed his unrivalled talent and skills.
That said, it would be very interesting to know what he thinks about the Hall & Collins Signature Echo. I'm sure he must know about it by now. Who knows, perhaps he visits these forums from time to time.

Alan, I doubt very much that Hank "needs a few bob" and I would guess he must be tired of playing Shads tunes, which is probably why he is concentrating on other genres these days....

Hank took up gypsy jazz in 2005 I believe. He plays a Saga Macaferri style guitar. A later day version of my 1976 CSL Maccaferri used on Lacrime and Cuban Swing. There is magic in astousic guitar playing. Electrics strats etc is just part of it. He's done the right thing. He has made his point with electric guitar Especially the Stratocaster. There are some stunning gypsy jazz players. Hank may well want to be a member of a very exclusive club. Good luck to him George Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

Off topic but Id like to see a new album, theres no reason why he couldnt knock out 6 tunes on the strat and 6 on the coffee and croissants guitar ! LOL (in french) of course, but seriously I think he would have to asked by a record company to do this, the main thing is he still plays and he always says "never say never" regards to all.. gary

Well I guess all I can say further is I don't think the H&C is suitable for gypsy jazz! Regards, Charlie
