HI All
Can anyone tell me how Charlies new echo compares to a Vox Long Tom.
I was looking for a Long Tom but for the price Charlies would be better.
I have EFTP on my Zoom G3 but sorry to say I don't like them. If the H&C echoes are similar to the G3 then I wont be interested.
The best echoes I ever had were Q2 with EFTP so I guess I compare everything else to that.
Also has anyone D.I the H&C Echo?
Thanks
Alan

Hi alan
I feel I can answer this having owned all the units mentioned. The hall and Collins is as good if not better than a q20 etc and it sounds just like my meazzi and the long tom I had. Where shouts are you located? You be more than welcome to try mine out depending on location.

HI Steve
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately I am in Lancashire quite a long way from you but thanks for the offer.
I thought you still had a Long Tom?
I just has a listen to your Return to the Alamo video can you tell me is the tome coming from the echo.
I have a Vox AC15C1 but I have to DI it.

Hi Alan, no i sold the long tom on here not very long after i brought it to buy the hall and collins unit. I have got rid of a lot of my echo boxes recently, i now have just the meazzi, hall and collins and a zoom g1xon. The long tom was a great unit but it wasnt as flexible as my meazzi so thats why i sold it.
Regarding the alamo video again my recording has got simpler now, i had the guitar in to the hall and collins and into a Vox Mini 3 and then live recorded that using a behringer c1 usb microphone which is a condenser so you dont need the volume up really loud to get the sound and im very pleased with it now its so easy to set up and use. My live rig is even simpler i have just my ac30 and hall and collins unit, i dont even use the caline pedal now as the hall and collins unit doesnt need it.
Hope this has helped but any questions please let me know
Thanks
Regards
Steve

Hi alan, ive never tried di but I may give it a go, I always prefer the sound of an amp personally. There is some bass cut on the hall and Collins I believe though Charlie will need to confirm

Thanks Steve It's not possible for me to use the amp normally due to Neighbours so I have to DI my recordings.
If you do try it wil, you let me know how it sounds.
Thanks

Hi Steve
Well considering there is no EQ it is very impressive.
I was imagining it going through the preamp of my AC15C1 and I bet the sound would not be far off. Add a touch of compression and .............!
Thank you for doing this for me at least I now know that it will DI.
Alan

You have certainly taught your dog to play the guitar well Steve as that sounded great, mine isn't that clever though, he just howls along as I play my stuff
