Hi, I realise that the old adage about 'you get what you pay for' applies but I am looking to buy one of these cases and as the genuine Fender one costs approx 160 pounds I have been looking at some non-Fender brands which are in the range 45-65 pounds and certainly look OK. The major difference seems to be that the lid ends are covered in genuine leather on Fenders' and imitation leather on the others.
Having said that I was wondering if anyone has any particular knowledge of any of these other brands.. i.e ones that are really good or ones that are really bad.
Any help would be most welcome.
Cheers
Peter

Hi Peter. Not sure where you live but I bought a tweed case for my Stratocaster made by Casenbagmaker to the world or "CNB" it is a copy of the Fender case and having now for over 12 months has held up well. 2 locks and a centre latch. I was lucky as I bought it wholesale for $79 and they retail down here for $129. I suspect it's made in China, nice red plush lining inside also with a gadget compartment Regards John

Peter
Check around your local guitar shops for CNB brand tweed cases. Give Allans a call down the lower end of Pitt St. They should stock them. Retail the go for around $120 or there abouts.

Hi Peter,
I got one from Thomann. Considering the price and comparison with the "real" thing, not bad at all. Just a 1/4 of the Fender price, 44 euro's in Holland. 40 Pounds. There are some differences, angles of the case are not that round, finishing little less. But overall, the higher price of the Fender does not make it that much better.
Regards, Emiel
