Someone told me that an 'Easy Mute' tremolo arm is available, made in the UK I think. Can anyone who has this fitted tell me what this does and what advantage it is over the conventional, bog standard arm. Also, is it simple to fit? Rgds - Clive

Hi Clive I have an Easy Mute on both my Strats, the only difference is the shape of the Tremolo bar, it has a couple of bends in it that moves the bar away from the bridge giving a little bit more room for muting. It screws in the same as a standard Tremolo Bar, they do come in different thread sizes so I think all makes of Strat are covered. They are quite expensive around £50 in the UK but for me having large palms it does give me that little extra room, not an essential upgrade but I don't regret buying them More Info Here: www.easymute.freeserve.co.uk/

I use Easymute also, it makes a difference. It`s designed and made by Ian St. John White, nice guy. You can buy a complete block with a non-screw fit so your trem never comes loose agin
