Hi Everyone How would you like one of these? Someone posted the following link on another guitar site I visit. Thought I might share it. www.modernguitars.com/archives/004584.htmlMaybe you could buy this one and get a sponsorship from Midas at the same time. Playing one of these would leave me totally exhausted however. Cheers Len

Does the twin exhaust mean it plays in stereo? Seriously, I was directed fairly recently to a site showing a range of metal bodied guitars with wooden necks (I can't remember the brand) and there were sound samples. The sound was good, but I felt it was a bit too metallic sounding, and got the impression that it could be difficult to work with. Regards, Charlie

Hi There Some guitars for fun! Veleno guitars..very expensive..14,000 dollars! Some history The Veleno company was started by Floirda engineer and guitar teacher John Veleno in 1970. The Veleno Original was first made in 1971 and various Veleno models were used by the likes of Eric Clapton, Gregg Allman, Marc Bolan, Lou Reed and Ace Frehley among many others. The guitars were made almost entirely out of aluminium, and featured a carved-aluminium hollowbody, so werent too heavy considering they were made from metal. by 1971 the six-in-a-line headstock changed to the 3 a side V shape headstock with ruby insert for the Veleno Original model. Veleno guitars were available in chrome, gold and other anodised colours (some with a black anodised neck). Veleno originals primarily featured two humbuckers (by Guild, Gibson or DiMarzio) with coil taps and phase switching, though some had three humbuckers. Only Between 145 and 185 Veleno guitars were made up until around early 1977. he also made two mini guitars known as the "Traveller" - one guitar and one bass, and his son made 8 more of these.
The link that you will lick were custom made for Todd Rundgren in 1977. hence the price. after these two magnificent guitars were made, he packed up the guitar making business and became a wedding photographer.www.veleno.net/Ankhs.htmA Canadian Vancouver based company.. How about these bargains? Apparently the guy who makes these (photographed at his stand in the craft warehouse in CapeTown in 2008) is a well established musician in South Africa and these instruments are much sought after. He had CDs of his music played on these for sale. He told me he came from one of the townships and was originally inspired by locals playing home-made guitars using old oil cans fitted with basic non-fretted necks made from spare planks, usually fitted with four nylon strings. He let me photograph the guitars but was most insistent he wasn't to be included in the shots. He played one and I was amazed how good it sounded, plugged into a Peavey amp.
