I just received my H&C Echo today and am totally blown away with it, it`s just so good. I`ve only just realised that there doesn`t appear to be a patch for Abbey Road Reverb unless I`ve missed something. I know I`m going to miss this effect for the likes of `Move It` and the `Theme From Shane` etc. This effect was included on my previous echo`s, Q2 and Magicstomp and I would really like to add Abbey R R to the H&C Echo if it is possible. Can it be programmed to add this patch and if so how would this be done. Many thanks Terry

Hi Terry, Abbey Road Reverb is as it says, a reverb effect, while the H & C is a dedicated echo unit without other types of effects. I suggest using patch P09 for Move It and Theme From Shane. Please let me know if this works OK for you. Regards, Charlie

A standard reverb will give you an overall effect, but if your doing close copies, and you have your anorak on one has to bare in mind that there is no standard AR reverb as pre delays, sometimes very long were added via tape delay, also the eq of the room was also often modified depending on the tune etc...a subject on it's own. It sounds very good and should be an asset for that early Shadows sound plus a lot more, the double tracker also sounds a nice piece of kit.

Hi Charlie. I`ve now had time to check out patch U09 for `Move It` and `The Theme From Shane` and yes it works very well with those, thank you. I have also tried the same patch with some Cliff songs from around 1961 such as `A girl Like You` and as you say you were able identify the echo he used at that time. Is it fair to assume that he used the same echo on the `B` side, `Now`s The Time To Fall In Love`, a song which I really like. I guess also that you would have heard the undubbed take 42 of that song from `The Rock And Roll Years` CD`s of a few years ago, the one without the backing vocal where they hadn`t yet worked out an ending and Hank is heard to be messing around at the end of the song and he hits the strings whilst damping them, at which point the echo repeats can be clearly heard. It`s fair to say that patch U09 is going to get some regular use from me from now on. It`s great Charlie to be able to contact you for valuable information on patches, settings etc on the H&C Echo, it`s very much appreciated. Kind Regards Terry

Hi Terry, Thanks and glad to know P09 will work for you with those. Hank did use the Meazzi Model J on Now's The Time to Fall In Love. It was that recording you mention where I took a sample of the delay times to come up with the Model J patches in the first place. Glad to know you have a keen ear for this stuff! Regards, Charlie
