Can the echo unit be connected in the effects send/return of an amp?

It can, but I wouldn't do it because effects loops can involve higher signal levels than the guitar signal levels that are optimum for the best results. Can I ask if there is a special reason that you would want to use the loop? Regards, Charlie

No. Simply that the amp I am using - Mesa Boogie Express 5:25 plus - has a loop

OK then I think you should not use the loop, and connect as described the instruction manual. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie and Dave, I run mine into the effects loop on Eleven rack when I'm recording, I tried in the front and it feels horrible to play, very thin. There is a function on Eleven rack that lets you move the effects loop anywhere in the chain, so I put it in front of the amp. I should try recording with my Boss GT 100, it has the same function also. Matthew

Hi Matthew, Interesting, maybe something in the interface with these modelling devices is not modelling the input stage like a valve amp does. Regards, Charlie
