Hi Everyone,
Thank you so much to everyone who has been writing with good wishes for Jet. My thanks also to Amanda for posting my letter below. I've spoken with Jet and Janet this morning and they've asked me to update you on what's been happening in the last two weeks.
Jet is still having tests at the hospital to try to find out the exact location of the cancer. Last week, I went with Jet and Janet to the hospital where Jet had a PET scan, following which he hoped to have been given a definite diagnosis. Unfortunately, however, Jet still has to undergo two further medical investigations next week, but he should have the results in about a fortnight. Obviously, this additional period of uncertainty is very stressful for both Jet and Janet, but they are both very positive about the future and are taking things one day at a time.
Several people have asked about Jet's gigs. At the moment, the only news is that the autumn tour has been cancelled and no further gigs are being booked until Jet has had the result of all the medical tests and is able to discuss his illness and treatment with his consultant. Nonetheless, Jet is determined to be back on stage as soon as possible. His new manager, Peter Stockton, is working hard and already has theatres lined up for next year. Peter is well respected and has the privilege of counting numerous Sixties groups and stars as personal friends - Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Searchers, The Swinging Blue Jeans, Status Quo, Wayne Fontana, Mike Berry and Rod Stewart - to name a few. As soon as there is definite news about when Jet will be gigging again, we'll let you know.
In the meantime, I just want to assure everyone that Jet is reading every message he receives on the sites. I've personally seen how much it means to Jet to know he has so much support from so many people. Thank you!!
Best wishes
Audrey
