Such a good looking guitar - so glad that it plays even better than it looks!! New Fender USA '52 Re-Issue Tele. What an awesome set of tones and SO different from the Strats. Quite a thick neck compared to my Brason and its suppiled on 9's which feel like knicker elastic. Feel some real Country music coming on! Yee-Haa! Ian

Maestro El Planto.
I read and listen to your posts with great enthusiasm. However, this time you have gone too far. Do you seriously expect me to believe that you remember what knicker elastic felt like???
I had a noodle on Daniel Martin's Tele. However, I've never played one in anger. Nice looking guitar. I await a sound file with baited breath. :-) xx

Hello Ian,
Yes, that’s a great looking Tele alright. Just like Albert Lee used to use. My friend has just acquired a Tele too.....a Nashville special.... in.........you’ve guessed it.........Fiesta Red. That instrument also sounds great and has an extra pick up to further vary the sounds.
Continue to enjoy yours, just as he is.
Cheers
Mick

Nice guitar Ian, I bought a 51 re-issue some time ago and it also has a thick neck but right for the time.

Hi Ian Looks a beautiful Telecaster to get your hands on and give it a good work out not sure about the C & W though it might be better More like the Blues I think.
The nearest I have got to one is a Squier CV 50's Tele lovely looking guitar and it plays and sounds a treat.
Regards Pete

I'm not computer literate, so am unable to upload my picture. I realise I'm getting off topic, however my claim to fame was back in 1992 when I read a Guitar Player magazine where they had a shootout of 32 telecasters. As I was thinking of buying a tele, I read with interest this shootout. The bottom line was a Tom Anderson hollow tele won the shootout with the words "It doesn't get any better than this" My subsequent enquiries lead to Pro Audio in Canberra, Australia, where I was told it was hanging on their wall. The rest is history ! I played that guitar in a band 5 nights a week, until eventually it needed a refret. I still have it, and it remains my favourite guitar. Cheers, Rob.

Rob - you win the Prize for spotting the (UN)deliberate Typo - '52 indeed it is. Oooops! Yes - I like the ashtray cover. I always think a Tele looks a bit "agricultural" around the bridge area without one. Cheers ian
