Just ordered one and expect arrival tomorrow - I've read the on-line manual and have a couple of fairly simple tech questions:
1. The manual describes plugging the unit into the front of the amp - Can it operate in an "effects loop" or is it better into the front?
2.Is there any process of altering the patch numbers in the User Bank i.e. to create a "play list" without overwriting the selected patch? Hope that makes sense!

Connecting the H&C in an effects loop would put the echos etc after the amps preamp circuit which could be a preferable way of using the Echo unit.

Hi jet690, Congratulations on your purchase! 1. The Hall & Collins Signature Echo was designed to emulate Meazzi and other echo units, many of which did not handle high signal levels and is in fact a part of their sound. These were designed to operate at guitar signal levels before effects loops were in use. So the Hall & Collins Signature Echo is used in the same way and in fact it may not work well in an effects loop where signal levels could overload the echo unit. 2. The patches in the User Bank are exact duplicates of the patches in the Preset Bank when the unit is new or when it has had a reset. Patches in the Preset Bank can never be overwritten. Therefore you can copy patches from the Preset Bank to any locations you like in the User Bank to assemble a set list in the order you want. Regards, Charlie

Thanks for the info Charlie - very useful in both respects - fairly basic, I know but essential.
