Hi Charlie
If I understand well
Are aux sends stereo or mono? Each aux output is a mono send. The effects returns are stereo returns. This is quite normal because, typically, you'd be patching a stereo reverb across them: taking a mono input to the reverb and creating a stereo return signal, for example.
Now on my Vox Valvetronix AD120VT, I have two stereo Send and Return jacks.
Do I only plug the H&C in the left send and return channel ?
Or do I have to have two patch cords? Two stereo into Send jack adapter, to the one input of the echo. Two stereo into Return jack adapter, to the one output of H&C???
Please explain

Hi Sheendigs, Aux sends on a mixer are usually mono, but I believe the effects sends on the Valvetronix amp is stereo, and linking the two stereo sends could be inadvisable as one signal would load the other. In any case, the preamp design of the H&C is based on the Meazzi Echomatic 2 preamp and so they have very similar overload levels. This makes them unsuitable for use with most effects loops which usually have much higher signal levels, causing possible unwanted distortion. When echo distortion (as heard on many early Shadows recordings) is required, this is best achieved with the echo unit connected between the guitar and amp. As the H&C is mono, I suggest that you keep it connected between the guitar and amp, and not in the effects loop. Almost every vintage echo unit would have to be treated in the same way. Regards, Charlie
