Vic Flick seemed like a really nice guy - and modest too. I think the guitar would be worth more to a collector. I find it hard to imagine that a player of that caliber would go to a pawn shop like that! Dave

As if!!! As Dave said, a Pawn Shop, when a few posts on the net would at least double his money Phil

According to his book Guitarman Vic Flick recorded the James Bond Theme with a 1939 English Clifford Essex Paragon Deluxe guitar plugged into a Fender Vibrolux amplifier! And if you listen carefully to the video he never said that he recorded the James Bond Theme with that particular stratocaster... That corresponds to wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Bond_ThemeAnd he replied it in this interview: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eYcAzG_jM0David

Most of that show is staged and pre-produced to the max....sometimes fake. The Wikipedia knowledge they tell to the soon to be ex-owners, is so staged and sometimes a abomination and offending to the folks who bring in the stuff.
Rick tells Vic "still all original pickups on it" while clearly visible a SD double rail in the bridge position. Also clearly to see Vic's biting his tongue, not to lash out to the stupidity and blatant ignored non knowledge of Rick.
A lot of on YT about the fake selling of some rare guitars, that were hanging for dogs years in the experts own shop... He bought in the guitar himself and a friend and sometimes a actor is so to speak the owner of that guitar...
Cheers Rob

They are so knowledgeable in that shop but like Rob said, everything is researched before the cameras are on.

Watched the show many times, and putting aside it is a TV show, still don't get the point of bringing in an "expert" to value the item in front of the owner.
Tha majority of items brought into the "Pawn" shop would raise far better prices on **** or at auction if the items were genuinly for "pawn" purposes ie: short term loans OK, but to sell to a shop that needs to make a profit and expect the same price as auction/****. No way jose'
Mike.

The original vintage bridge pu, was still in the case to complete Vic's guitar...
If your lucky most pawn shop geezers start at 60% of what the item is worth...when they have the idea or your telling then you need money fast...well your game...
Cheers Rob

A new switch accompanied by additional parts, sound interesting, especially when they're not mentioned!

Do you think that it is a bit like Trigger's original broom that he has used for 20 years and it had only had 17 new heads and 14 new handles Phil

Quite possibly Sandra but what it all boils down to is not what the guitar is valued at, but what someone is prepared to pay for it which is a little bit different!

This is the same guitar and amp he used but I also read he used an AC15, the recording sounds thicker and more compressed than this like a Vox does youtu.be/eeuhXwvb3V8Matthew

A lot to do with post production as the guitar sound on that video is very dry.
