There is an oldies station in Melbourne that has been resurrected 3MP that they killed a few years ago and tried to make a travel and lifestyle show and failed, I was listening this morning and Wonderful Land came on , it sounded pretty much the same till the muted echo bit and it was the multi head bounce of a space echo not the rhythmic Meazzi, does anyone know of this version? Hi Matthew
Sounds like it was from the 1989 re-recording - At Their Very Best album.

In my Opinion there are at least four different studio versions of Wonderful Land released by the Shadows:
1. The original single version from 1962 with the Norrie Paramour orchestra
2. The undubbed version (no orchestra) from the Everything Of Value (Rarities 2) album
3. The undubbed version (no orchestra) from the At Abbey Road Album (which is slightly different and slower)
4. the re-recorded version from the Very Best album
In addition there are several live version recorded at venues in Kingston, Birmgham, Liverpool, Cardiff, BBC and more...
And last not least there is the Hank Marvin/Mark Knopfler version from Hank's 1993 Heartbeat album
Also interesting is that one of the undubbed versions has been added to the 50 Golden Greats album (probably by mistake) instead of the original release with the norrie paramour orchestra!
