I did an experiment, I re programmed the Meazzi echo to sound like Eddies echo on the H&C on ain’t talking bout love into the Brown channel on the Katana and it sounded pretty close. Most people think it’s one echo but he actually had two echoplexes one set at 100ms and the other at 400ms with zero repeats The drive function on the H&C is an important ingredient that gets overlooked that adds a bit, I had to take it back to 10 o clock, I’ll put a video up Matthew

The title caught my eye... Now I'm wondering if I'm the only person around here who knows the song? I was a teenager during the 80s.

Haha I was a kid in the 80s 45 now, Guitar is a broad church, a lot of hard rock guys were influenced by Hank and the Shadows believe it or not , Brian May Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen biggest influence was the Dave Clark five he used to say as he started on drums. I had a go at the echo settings on Ain’t talking bout love with the Hall and Collins. I depends what you read weather he had one or two echoplexexs , then you read there was one echo with no repeats but there is definitely a repeat which I think is the second echo here is what I got soundcloud.com/matthew-scanlon-988608775/sets/katanaMatthew

Echo sounds good for this. However I don't think I have heard the original. Regards, Charlie

Yeah, he could have used anything in the studio, but his live rig by the mid '80s would have been rackmounts - SDE3000 or TC2290 or similar. He was also famous for using the MXR Phase 90 on everything, but again, on stage it was more likely a rackmount unit. If it wasn't for Mr Marvin, there may never have been the AC30. Likewise, without Eddie there'd probably be no Floyd Rose trem.

Hi Matthew, I don't remember if it was the same model of Univox echo but I modified one to sound much closer to a Meazzi for a customer many years ago. It sounded pretty good. Regards, Charlie
