Hi all,
I started thinking back to the 70’s and Gerry Shepard and his star guitar sprung into mind. He was the lead guitarist of The Glitter Band who had numerous hits here in the Uk during that period.
He had his guitar set up for slide playing but I seem to remember years ago someone told me that all six strings were tuned to A not the usual tunings for slide guitar.
I’d love to work out some of his songs so I wonder if anyone can throw any light onto exactly how his distinctive star guitar was indeed setup.
I know the Glitter Band started by backing a notorious singer with the initials of GG but my question has nothing to do with him. I just have always loved the guitar sound of Gerry Shepard.
I know the members here have a vast amount of knowledge regarding guitars and players so may I ask that you delve into the past and see what you can come up with?
Many thanks Steve

Hi Charlie,
Thank you so much this video explains it all.
I’d never heard of the term Ostrich tuning but I was correct in that all strings were tuned to ‘A’.
I can feel the need to do some practice when I get time.
I knew someone on this fantastic site would have the information.
Regards Steve
