You won't go far wrong with a small Vox, one of the VX series (or a VT if you can find a decent one second hand) or one of the tiny MV amps. They're all ideal, although the MVs require a speaker cab - The Vox BC108 is excellent. There are lots of others but Vox are a place to start your search.

Hi Roy Have you seen the Vox - Mini Super beetle? The interesting thing is that you can link an output speaker connection, to get more power at 4 ohms. I crank mine at 50 watts. Sheendigs

As Len says, try the Vox VX range, or a second hand VT. I’ve got a VT20+ and it’s a superb amp. Lots of options, and an adjustable power level.

Roy,
You won’t be disappointed by it. Take some time to work out how the different modes and controls work, it can be a bit confusing at first. If you don’t have a manual you can download it from the vox website.

Hi,
I use two amps at home. An AC15 with master volume and a Fender Princeton front end feeding a cathode biased pair of 6v6GT output valves. Also with master volume. Both have the speaker fed via a (Monacor) L-pad control.
A bit more technical. I fitted an extra resistor which can be switched in and out of circuit in series with the O/P valves cathode resistor. This drops the power to about 7.5 watts. I can also switch the HT rail voltage by using taps on the mains transformer. This applies to both amps. Hope this is of use, Regards,
