Hi Cobra69,
Yes I have replaced the display on a Q2 with a colour screen, and I cut some black card to black out the clear screen area's. The only thing that gave me any problems was getting the covers off of the level LED's for re use. Great end result, really pleased I did it.
Kind regards,
Chris

Hi Chris Could you show us the display of your colour screen for the Q2.? Did you have to make any changes as it is a colour screen?? Sheendigs

thanks chris well done fitting the display as it's not an easy task. i have replaced all 15 back lit green leds tonight. Before replacing them i had one of the 15 leds showing dark after replacing the leds screen is a lot brighter but the same led number 7 from the left is still dull bit, but not as not as bad. so i think it may be a problem on the pcb board chips. i will order a new colour one like the one you have fitted when you say problems getting the cover off the signal leds did you desolder the complete led block off the old exsisting pcb? or was the black cover glued on ? if i get time i may do a video on fitting the replacement screen thanks again take care

Hi Cobra69,
There was no soldering involved, prising off the "housing" for the level LED's was awkward I think I may have used a blade to help remove it, I recall the instructions suggested that the selection wheel was removed, but I found it unnecessary. Whilst you are in there it would probably be good to replace the battery (I used a CR232 holder wired on with 2 short wires).
Kind regards,
Chris
