In 1984, a French singer, Pascal Danel, invited the Shadows to a variety show he hosted, which was entirely devoted to them. The principle was to preferably shoot outdoors.
The sequences were filmed in the South, in Camargue in April, and the show was broadcast in June.
Didier, administrator of the "Fan des Shadows" forum, managed to find a fairly correct recording of this show. To improve it a little and give the impression of a rebroadcast in a small local cinema, I made a new video, without retouching any sequence. I only had to resync the slightly shifted sound and image.
I admit that I took pleasure in seeing how mischievous and full of British humor Hank Marvin could be, as well as the rest of the group. I also enjoyed discovering certain titles from an era that I thought was less interesting than the early years.
The show itself lasts a little over an hour, followed by a 32-minute making-of.
