hi all just got myself a 360 rickenbacker 6 string 1996 in fireglow. ;D i would have prefered the black but there you go it was a good price. i am surprised how much you can get it to sound like a strat. it has 2 high gain pickups. they have a great clean sound. more knobs than a strat so takes a bit of getting used to, 2 bass tone and 2 treble. which increase and decrease the volume as well, also a 3 way toggle switch. and a type of mixer knobe. the neck is really the opposite of a fender as its made as a laminate in 3 bits, but feels really good as does the whole guitar really pleased its a guitar i have always wanted and i am not diserpointed with it. anyone own one or played one. would be intrested in what you thought or think of them. peter

Hi Kipper, I have a 340/6 JetGlo and I love it. I also got the JangleBox, which really makes the Rick chime. My only regret is that I did not get the same guitar, only a 12-string, because I think Rick 12-strings are the "top predator" among the 12-strings and there's nothing like them. The Ricks are indeed capable of a great variety of sounds. Here is a Rick sound you may not have heard before. Whoever says Ricks are not good for Shadows/Hank Marvin songs, has another think coming! NivramSleepwalk '97Geez, I hope these hyperlinks work!! Cheers, Bojan

No, the Jangle Box is an outboard compressor and sustain pedal. It's great for all guitars, but it was especially made to emulate the jangling and chiming sounds of Roger McGuinn's Rick 370 (which had a built-in compressor). It is a little bit more expensive, but it's built like a tank and sounds absolutely fantastic!!! If you are a gigging musician and have a Rick, I think it's a huge asset. Check it out here: janglebox.com/The rick-o-sound is basically a stereo outlet jack. Bojan

Those two tracks are superb. I had a Rickenbacker short scale 3 pickup model like John Lennon's only his had been painted black and mine was the original colour. I never knew anything about the model numbers of Rickenbackers so I don't know the number of mine. There was a capacitor in series with the bridge pickup which I removed to stop it sounding so thin. I later converted it to stereo and ran in into 2 channels of the amp. I made my own Y cable. Got a wide range of sounds. It is probably the easiest guitar ever to play for me because of the short scale and I have small hands. Had it for about 2 years and then decided I wanted another Strat instead. Regards, Charlie
