Have to say, this is the BEST of the Shads interest groups sites. BUT: it is so much more than that because it doesn't limit itself to just Shads type stuff. I love the complete unblinkeredness of the site. The sound files show that we have an amazing amount of talent amongst our members and the range of music is so diverse. crikey FANTASTIC!!!!
This is a great AND friendly place to be. Feels like home. Thanks Charlie - Your a good un!!! Happy Christmas one and all.

Hi,
I whole-heartedly agree. This is the best site, well-run, well-informed and full of useful, interesting and practical items particularly for guitar players as much as Shads fans. There's none of the 'waffle' as on the other sites. It's also a site where you can offer and receive a lot of help and advice, and Charlie's experience and knowledge is invaluable.
Keep up the good work Charlie. We appreciate it.
And .. A Happy Xmas to one and all.
Cheers,
Ian

This thread took me quite by surprise when I saw it! Thanks for your individual messages of appreciation. I think the reason is that I never wanted it to be a fan club type of site like some of the others, I wanted it to be different, just a site for anyone interested in guitars and related items, and the idea of sharing information seems to work well. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie
Spot on from me, but its you being personally involved with speedy accurate help and replies that makes this site so special, we all know and feel that we have real friend in you. Whilst other sites are generous in setting up fan bases and providing a forum for help, no one else does it in the hands on way that you do.
Once again, thanks for everything you do for us, have a great Christmas!
Best wishes
Gary

Hi Charlie, Don't want to turn this into a "fan club type of site like some of the others", but it is increasingly a unique combination of technical help, advice and sound files that give examples of different rigs and approaches.
No question this is the best site for all round "what's the latest 'sound' and my G string sounds aweful, trem doesn't work etc', advice" ... not to mention "how to build a "more genuine than genuine" VOX or other Vintage amp.
Perth is where you can hear the latest sound file efforts of the growing "melodic guitar style" players (including me of course !!), and UK Shadows Music for all the latest info, scoops, gossip, and "Ecca" productions.
Actually, in my view, the three sites compliment each other very well ......
Regards George

Hi Charlie, I too wish to thank you for setting up this wonderful site and for sharing so much of your time and detailed knowledge with us. I don't know how you manage to read every post, listen to every sound file, and still conduct the business side of things. Your efforts have certainly given me a new lease of life musically, and they have bought together a wonderful group of people that will almost trip over each other in order to offer help to anyone needing it, you and your site are unique. I wish you and Yours a Very Merry Christmas. THANK YOUKind regards, grip p.s. Great post Jimbo

Hi Charlie
I just wanted to endorse what everyone else has said.
The thing that amazes me is that you always respond to members questions and comments so quickly and they are always considered and helpful replies. I don't know how you find the time to do it with everything else you do but, there again, I've noticed that some of your replies are written in the early hours of the morning so I guess you don't need much sleep!
All the best for Christmas and the New Year to you and all members of this great forum.

HI ALL ,,,,,,,,,,,''JIMBO'' YOU SAID IT ALL MATE& YOU ARE SPOT-ON!!!!! ONE of the main reason's for the popularity of this site is down-right honesty!!!!!! Here on this-site a ''spade'' is called a ''spade''!!!!! 'TO QUOTE ''MARK'' of ''The rock-island-rebel's '' There lead guitarist-sound-man-etc '',CHUCK''-[charlie-hall] Is refered to as,,, ''MR-PERFECT'' when it comes to getting it right & that attitude comes over here on ''THE-SITE'' ... ''BUT AS WELL'' You cannot have a great forum without great member's!!!!!!and we seem to attract equally honest& friendly -member's,bringing with them year's of experience & knowledge that they willingly pass on to less knowledgeable member's , making a happy mix ..& it is much appreciated by myself & other's.. CONGRATULATIONS TO ,ALL CONCERNED !!!from a most happy member ''aussie-barry''.. [ps] Charlie at least have'' XMAS-DAY-OFF''

Charlie, as a relative novice I do not post very much on this site, but I must agree with everyone what a brilliant site this is and a total inspiration to people like myself who are learning to play guitar as a retirement project.
I log onto this site regularly and have received so much help from all the experts who post here. This has helped me to chose my equipment well and I am rellly pleased with the sound I get from my Classic 50's Strat, Magicstomp and Fender Superchamp XD, all chosen with the help from members of this site. I am concentrating on improving my playing skills and hope to try some recording in 2010, so you may get a sound file or two from me next year.
This site has inspired me so much to keep playing where a few years ago I may have given up out of desparation and lack of progress, thankfully this has not been the case and I play every day.
Thanks so much Charlie for all the hard work you have put into making this site so successful.
Happy Christmas to you and your family
Tony (Norfolk)
