Hi all. Newcomer here. Thought I'd pop in and say hello and that sort of thing.
Been playing for years and years, mostly solo in the clubs and pubs, etc. I use backing tracks that -by and large- I've created myself, although nowadays I find I'm using more karaoke files than my own creations. All is grist to the mill.
I've got a custom-built Strat based on a '57, maple neck, but with Lace Sensor pickups and do loads and loads of Shadows stuff (I try to specialise in the hits of the 50's, the 60's and the 70's only - none of that modern stuff for me!).
Sometime in the new year I'm going to be in the market for maybe an Alesis Quad, or Yamaha Magicstomp in order to make full use of the EFTP (many thanks Mr Hall!). But until then I'm only using my old Boss ME5 effects processor. Not the best, but it's adequate.
Anyway, that's me, Spike. Hope to meet lots of like-minded friends on here in the future.
Cheers everybody.

Thanks, Barry.
Yeah, my current processor is certainly adequate for what I need, but you probably know what it's like when you're trying to recreate The Shadows sound and no matter how hard you try you just can't get it to sound right.
I did a bit of a search on YouTube and found a few people using the EFTP effects and thought: "Wow! That's exactly what I need." You can close your eyes and think you're listening to the original recordings.

Hi Spike,
Greetings and welcome to the forum.
If I can throw in my opinion, I have had good results using a Yamaha Magicstomp, which is a great piece of kit in its own right, and really amazing with Charlie's EFTP patches, especially when you consider the reasonable costs involved.
The Quadraverb units are getting a bit old and prone to developing 'issues' at this stage, like many of us! Regards,
James

Hi James.
Indeed, I've heard good things from various people regarding Alesis, Zoom and Yamaha, but it'll probably be the Magicstomp that I'll go for as this is the one I've heard mostly.
I've been checking out some of the local bands/solo artistes playing the same circuit as myself and almost to a man they're saying Yamaha is the one to go for.
I know they're all extremely good quality but as you rightly say the Quadraverb units are quite old.
