Hi All,
I've just been tinkering and errr well guess what I tried and it works quite well.
A couple of years ago my better half bought me a battery/mains powered mp3 amplifier thing for want of a better description.
It folds up to about the size of a cigarette packet has two little speakers about 1.5 inches each.
Hold on just found a piccie.

Nothing wrong with pink but mine is white.
I plug into my Magic stomp and there you have it bedroom amp for £6.99.
Of course it's not going sound like an AC30 but for practice it ain't too bad, then when it gets late plug your earphones back in.
Not being techie I may well be frying the little fella with the output from the MS but so far so good.
Regards,
Tim.

Hi Tim,
If it doesn't distort, the input is probably about right.
Regards,
Charlie

Hi Charlie & All,
This little gizmo was bought just to take some music with us on our travels.
Charlie, it doesn't distort unless you really wind up the output from the source but I'd expect that anyway so I guess it's O.K. and for the price not that important.
I really am so surprised with this but I guess the more savvy will already be aware of such devices, although.......maybe not!
I also have the big brother of this device bought on a whim, can't find a photo but it's much larger and is not so easy to transport so until now not really used, now I'm not a backing track play along type of guy (until now that is (depends on B.T.))
Apart from my interest in Shadows/Hank type music I also own a Boss GT 8 which covers just about everything else you can think of (digitally that is). Just grabbed some Floyd BT from Gilmourish and had a great time.
It's a close call but I think I've got more hair than Mr. Gilmour, for the time being at least, and I'm sure we played the same note once!
Having played "alongside" Mr. Gilmour ...........he's O.K.
mp3 -> Large Player Thingy
Guitar -> quite Fender Blues Junior
I'm now curious as to how it's done pro style i.e. one man band.
I've seen a few guys with what seems little more than a small amp and a box playing some really good stuff, in the street , either with a very small generator or just batteries I guess, any ideas?
Regards,
Tim.

Hi Tim,
I think the street musicians use battery powered amps. I know little about them though.
Regards,
Charlie
