Hi All, Greetings from New Zealand. Last night, I along with about 10,000 others watched the Cliff and the Shadows 50th outdoor concert at the Bowl of Brooklyn, New Plymouth. It was just amazing, even for a die hard fan like me, the sound was superb and I noticed that Hank was using 2 JMI amps, each of which were miked up, which brings me to my question. Does anyone know the type of microphone used for both Hank's and Bruce's amps? They did not appear to be your usual SM57's more like a condensor type, smallish but with a large diameter diaphragm. Thanks, Wrangler.

I am lucky enough to be going to the Cape Town gig (I never know whether to leave a space and capitalize). I have no idea how far I will get to the front. But if I am fortunate, (not usually) I will certainly answer your question. I can't wait to see them as it was in 1961 that I last was able to appreciate the inimitable style of HBM, live and up close.
On a different note, let me say that this site is an inspiration to many guitar players... who have aged well - and have retained their good taste and virtuosity, as demonstrated by the quality of the sound files. My thanks to Charlie for all his information, kindly understanding - and help to everyone. His echo patches have revitalized me into playing Shad's numbers again and I am now recording (at home) for the first time in my life.
A veritable pleasure to belong. (Good stuff Charlie)
