Hi Everyone. What a great site. I have a basic Zoom G1x pedal and wondered if the patches are the same as the G2 as it seems a very similar pedal. If so I would be happy to purchase from Charlie.
I also have a squire Hank Marvin Strat which I bought new in 1991/2 (not sure). I have read various comments about this guitar and would like to know specifics ie wood, pickups neck? If anyone has any info I would be grateful as I was thinking of trading in for mexican strat.
Thanks

Hi strat790, Welcome to the site. As far as I know the G1 does not have the required features to work for the kind of programs I make. I only saw one Squier Marvin guitar. It had ceramic bar magnet pickups. Someone else who had or has one said his pickups were not the bar magnet type. I also noticed that the string spacing at the bridge is a bit narrower than a normal Strat although most likely other Squier models had a similar spacing. Regards, Charlie

Hi Ralph
I can recommend the G2 or better still G2 1u that I have its great for the price with the patches and amp modeling that comes with the patches.
Have a look at both. The G2 1u has the expression pedal that can be used for volume (and other things like Wah) I set mine to volume so that I can use it for swell effect. Useful !!!
Both are good units. Good luck George

Hi George. You say you use the pedal as a volume pedal. I presume this would be for the likes of Cavatine and Argentina. How does it compare with a separate volume pedal? I have the G1x which also has the pedal which I use as you do. I find that most of the 'swell' is in the last part of the depression of the pedal thus not giving the smooth violin like sound.
Thank you for your comments.
Ralph

I would look at the upgrade to the G2 which is the G2Nu. I'm sure Charlie will write the programs for this, I believe it has the same modules as the G2 but its advantage is it has the librarian, more refined engine and better display. It will be just under £100 and Zoom are shipping in the next four weeks and if you're into Steve Vai he's written 20 patches for it. There is only 40 patches int the G2 but the G2nu has at least 99. Hi, Thanks Guys for you comments. Yes I've tried the pinkie method years ago but found the volume pedal method so much easier. Tony, thanks for the info I think I'll wait for the G2Nu. :-) Ralph
