Hi All, I haven't played this one for a bit. It is slight variation to how I used to play it (which was as the original). I think the lead could probably be a bit more on the bright side, but I'm not sure. www.4shared.com/audio/sk75nICF/The_Savage.htmlComments of any sort please are welcome. Kind regards Roger

Hi Roger, the tone sounds ok to me. Possibly the tone on the BT could be a bit brighter to lift the rhythm guitar up a little. Very well played though, well done Regards Graham

Hi Roger,
I enjoyed your rendition of The Savage. I agree with the comment regarding the BT, maybe a little compression may give it the lift.
Thanks for sharing it.
Kind regards,
Chris

Hi Roger, The tone sounds very close to where it should be. I think post processing with compression on the lead guitar track to allow more attack might be the only way to improve it further. The backing may need a bit more mids to strengthen the rhythm guitar. Regards, Charlie

Hi Graham, Tony, Chris, Charlie,
My thanks for your comments and observations.
My problem of post adjustment of the lead guitar and/or backing track sound, is that they are mixed before recording. My backing track is fed into my amplifier from an mp3 player to the 'auxiliary input'. My guitar signal is fed into the normal input. There is also a 'phones/recording output socket on the amplifier from which I connect to a small digital recorder. The only way I can see forward at the moment is to pre adjust the backing track, then re-record it before using it but it seems a bit messy. Maybe I may have to have a re-think on how I do all this.
Anyway, food for thought.
My thanks to you all again.
Kind regards Roger

Hi Roger,
That was a very good version of 'The Savage'. It must be a rather difficult number to play. I admire anyone who attempts it. I've never tried it with a backing track but can only imagine that it is. You played that piece really well. It was most enjoyable to listen to. Thanks for posting it.
Cheers, Len

Hi Len,
Thanks for your kind comments. I don't think you'll find it as difficult to play as you may think. Just break it down into sections, then put it together. The only 'awkward' bit if any, is the middle section timing. But if you listen to the timing of the Shadows track again, and again, and again, sooner or later it gets printed in your brain. Give it a go, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Kind regards Roger

Hi Roger,
Thanks Roger for your encouragement. I will try it again soon. Only trouble at the moment is that I don't have a backing track for it. I hope to be getting some BTs soon.
Regards, Len

Hi Len,
The Savage backing track I used is from the UB Hank CD Vol 1. There is also a free one on Goran's website when you fancy a go at playing it.
Kind regards Roger

Roger Nice arrangement and well played. As Len says not and easy number to play. There is always room for improvement and I agree with Charlie. I find that if you keep doing these Shads numbers it gets easier. they start to flow after while. Other than all of that. Great playing and sound. Enjoyed it All the best George.
