Hi Yesterday I purchased the Line 6 POD 2.0 ver as I believe the Amp Sims are much better that other Modelling Units. When I opened the Box No Manual or Software inside, this Unit was Brand New. Is it common practice for Companies to offer no Manuals but customers to Download .pdf instead. I Downloaded The Manual ok, the Line Edit I tried to Download for Editing refuses to Open.. Any Advice. Also I noticed many reviews stating 15 Amp Cabinets I only see 5 On the Effect Switch, and on Line 6 Site Demo Pod 2.0 Sound Files , with Names on file where on the unit do I find these Sound Files. Sorry for all questions,
regards
Ronnie

When I bought my POD 2 many years ago it came with a hard copy manual and software. If you have downloaded the manual, everything you need to know is in there. However to access amps 17-32 hold the "TAP" button while turning the amp knob. I was so pleased with what the POD2 could do, I bought and now only use my POD XT PRO rack unit. I dont have any problems with Line6 Monkey or Line6 Edit as they both work with my PODS, so can't help you there Mike.

Hi Mike
Thanks for the reply, I got no Manual as mentioned. However when I try to Download Line Edit it refuses to open "Java error " I understand the TAP Button function, but The User Patches are they the same as Amp Models, eg... If I go thru Amps 1 - 32, how do I find the 36 User Settings on the Unit. Thanks again

You will find the detail for user settings in section 6 of the manual. It sounds like your Line 6 edit problem may be needing Java Runtime 5 installed?
Mike.

Thanks Mike for your Help with this Pod 2.0 info.
To John.. Many Thanks for the Java Link for JRE 5.0 update 22 that helped to Launch Line Edit.. but I still need Purchase Midi / USB Interface to Download to Unit. I thought I could look at Patches in Line Edit without the Midi Interface.. well another Purchase to be made....... How do you find the Line 6 POD 2.0 unit John.
Thanks Mike & John again

Hi Ronnie Glad it works ok now, yes you do need adapter cable, but there cheap on the well known auction site. I dont use the Pod 2 I have the XT Pro rack model. there are some Shad patches on line6 site for the pod 2 Click Custom Tone .com then select pod 2 and in the search box type the Shadows this will bring up the patches (note on the left there are pictures of the pods hold your mouse over the picture and make sure it say's Pod 2 the others will not be compatible) some of the best are on pages 11,12,and 13. Thanks again John. Saved some Shads patches, but may not be as Good as Magicstomp EFTP.
When I put a new Patch on say... D1 will that overwrite the factory patch, eg.. on the Magicstomp there are seperate user patches to save. Can the POD 2.0 do the same.
regards

Hi Ronnie I dont think that there are any user banks on the Pod 2. You can only save it to one of the preset banks A B C D and overite the ones that you will not use say 6B line 6 crunch or you can load it through line 6 edit to see if you like it as long has you dont press SAVE it will not overite it.
