HI to all , its nice to be home & settle down to my revived hobbie ,some time ago I came across a ''FET'' preamp for guitar so as to eliminate lead-losses & enable a guitar to connect to a high impedience [the fet-preamp] & from the preamp to a lower impedience unit such as a Q2 or mixer etc etc etc ,, I sent a copy of the simple-circuit to charlie to evaluate ,etc ,so we'll await his thoughts on it ,, It can be made in the jack-plug of a guitar lead & phantom powered 9v batt etc,, it will i think be a good thing,i am sure.. CHEERS ''aussie'' barry..

Hi Barry, It seems the most useful as an impedance converter. It doesn't have much gain. It should work fine for those that might need it. If a capacitor is added in parallel with the source resistor (the one that goes to earth from the FET) then there would be a little more gain and second harmonic distortion. Regards, Charlie
