I am being offered a Q2 EFTP with 'original' patches. By that I believe he means its never been updated. I have had my ZOOM2000EFTP forever and I love it for what it is and what it does and I just wonder if anyone can tell me what "Differences" I will hear when compared to it. Somewhere in the scheme of things, some Hank players get a really 'fat' honking sustaining echo sound that seems to be a function of the Echo unit rather than anything else. Is it the Q2 that is responsible for this? And - How old are Q2s and should I be worried if its "ancient" cheers Ian

Hi Ian, What you are describing is more than likely the EQ settings of the echo signal of the Q2 (or Q20). The RFX in comparison has very basic EQ settings for the echo signal. The Q2 or Q20 also has pitch change effects to simulate wow (as in wow and flutter). It also will not affect the overall sound as much because the inputs are a much better match for the guitar than the RFX, so you can connect the guitar direct to the Q2 input without tone loss. Q2s were made between 1994 and 1997. They can sometimes suffer from internal connector problems but they can largely be solved with fairly simple maintenance which would sometimes involve removing the top lid to locate a problem. Regards, Charlie
