Hi Barry,
A new set of the [url=http://cgi.the well known auction site.co.uk/ws/the well known auction siteISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=150357240251ELIXIR 12s[/url] have just been sold on the well known auction site UK for £5.50. I didn't want to advertise it as someone on here may have been watching them and it only bumps up the price.
Cheers Barry

Right you 2 Barrys !
Have Newtone strings now gone from "Hero to Zero" ?
I know of the supply problems Barry was having, but that was mainly due to the small quantitys ordered (& possibly a retailer getting wind of what was happenening)
Plenty of shops both on-line & on the high street have stocks of Newtones, so they are available by retail.
I've got sets of the 11-49's (thanks Barry) & they are fine so I feel no need to change just yet. I have noticed that they have a higher tension than the equivalent D'addarios they replaced though.
Always interested in other peoples experiences with different gauges & makes though.
Are the Elixer's really that better, or is it just the anti-rust properties ?
Cheers
Dick.

HI Dick & all ,,,, AS to if the elixir's are better or not I can't tell you as yet but thought I would try them I think as someone said ,if any string is treated with a protector type fluid [light oily cloth] etc they do last much better anyway ,,,we'll see? ? CHEERS ........................barry..& Dick you are right ''The Twang Really Is The Thang''
