Hi mrbean12 I have moved your post here as you will receive more viewings Send a Private message to Tony (tonybiker) as he has a cable that he loans out to members, look in this thread - charliehall.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=usbtomidi&action=display&thread=1065&page=1Check out the first post in the thread for information, dis-regard the email address as I'm sure Tony no longer uses that one, instead send him a private message

Hi can anybody in the know help me please, I have just got my old friends Quadraverb Two unit It needed a power cable which I have just purchased. As far as I am aware it does have the Shadows EFTP on it,i have no Manual & no clue as to using this unit, can anyone tell me how I can access the Shadows sound, The power cable works ok & all the buttons seem to work. This was my friends called Jim Rogers his uncle is Joe Brown & Jim always used to laugh about the Fact Joe never liked the Echo units but Jim was a great fan of them & I must add a good player as well.

If there are EFTP patches loaded then you should see them in User Bank 0 and possibly User Bank 1 too. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, I have just had a look and on Prog:user-0-00 (Echomatic 2) This is what it reads. Prog:user 0-01 Ecomatic 2 / Prog:user 0-10 EmaticTap / Prog:user 0-15 Meazzie Echo / Prog: 0-99 Euro Echo /
This it what it reads on the 0-00 up to 0-99 They all seem to be some sort of Echo sounds.
On Bank 0-02 its other sounds like- Big-Room etc.

Some do, most don't. On my Q2 (original patches, not the updated ones - never saw the need) here are some examples of what you might see - 0-00 EMTC 1 1 (used for Apache) 0-10 EMTC 2 1 (general light Meazzi echo used for many tunes) 0-13 EMTC 2 4 WONDERFUL LAND (specific to WL) 0-15 EMTC 2 6. (fat echo for TFYL etc) 0-18 FLINGEL BUNT. (specific echo for FB) My notes in brackets. I have no echoes in Bank1, probably because its not got the extra, updated patches. If you're not seeing displays like these, likely it's not EFTP but my guess is that it is. HTH Ian

Hi Ian thanks for your information so would you know if there is a chart you can get that tells you what Echo Bank to use for a Certain Shadows Track. Also I could be in luck as I may have the Echos Loaded on this unit.

Thanks for all your input it is really helping me with this unit as you can probabley tell I am not very good at Technical stuff, but I am hoping to use it in the Band I am in for a few Shadows Tunes.
But I need to learn to use it and make sure I use the right Echos

Give Charlie the serial number of the Q2. If it's loaded with a legitimate copy of EFTP he may ba able to give you a list.

I have an Excel speadsheet I created comparing my Q2 EFTP numbers to other echo units. I had to create it when Club gigging and having to use 'resident' backlines that were not Q2 and gives examples of Shadows tunes. If it's helpful,PM me. Ian

Hi 0-02 patch says its a Ecomatic 2 but I think I may of pressed something to change this by accident. Now I'm confused. If it says Echomatic 2 then it doesn't seem as though it has been overwritten. Email me the S/N (don't post it here) and I'll check it. charliehallATntlworld.com (replacing AT with @) Regards, Charlie

Hi again Ian, would you have a spreadsheet for The Shadows Echo for the Alesis Quadraverb
This is the unit that was made before the Quadraverb Two I believe.
The Spreadsheet link you sent me is Great as it has the Quad two Shadows programmes on it Also the zoom 2000/Magicstomp/& GT/
Just wondering if there is a spreadsheet chart for the Alesis Quadraverb.
Many Thanks
Peter

Hi Peter, No I dont. The Spreadsheet was made out of Necessity. I created the conversion / comparison sheet because I was going to Clubs that didnt have my echo unit in the backline so needed to know which echo pattern ,of their one, to use instead. Its not perfect and know doubt there are errors but it worked, more or less. I never saw an echo sheet for a straight Quad so never added it. My only thought is that you take some time to go through the Patches, one by one, writing down what the Display says for them - and then comparing the Descriptions to the Spreadsheet. It won't be spot on but heck often I dont use the recommended Echo for some Shads numbers - and on-one has died. lol! You should get close enough, certainly on the specialist and important ones. Ian

Quote “Hi Ian, its Mr Bean hear again, I just want to ask if you would know if I can download a backing Track to a memory stick. ” Hi Mr Bean. The answer to the first question is “Yes”. I sometime do this if I want to play with B T’s using my HiFi. Sorry I can’t help with the BT that you mention. Dave

Sorry, I should have said. Once you have DLd the BT from "wherever", plug your memory stick into a USB socket and simply copy and paste it from your PC into it. I do it all the time for Gig PA's. Ian

Once you have your BT on your PC, plug the memory stick in a USB socket. Then If you go to 'my computer' on your PC you will see it shown as a Drive, called, say,Sandisk, or whatever make it is. Now you know it's there, go back to your BT, right-click on it and choose the 'copy' option. Go back to your memory stick, as shown above, click on it and it will open - and of course will be empty. Simply right-click in the empty space and choose 'paste' and after a few seconds it will copy over. Ian
