Hi Carlos, Thanks. I have put you on my list with an added note that you definitely want one. I should have four more pre-production prototypes in hopefully about two weeks. If these pass all the tests they will become the first serial numbered units and will be kept by us for some time before we decide what to do with them. The first production ones after that could be ready by January. I am sorry that it is looking very unlikely that there will be any ready for sale by Christmas. We have finished writing all the Meazzi and Vox echo patches and they sound amazing (and everyone who has heard them agrees), but I don't expect anyone to just take my word for it. There is one patch space left to fill but I am writing two more patches. This will not take very long at all, maybe an evening or two. If they both sound good, I may get rid of a Klemt Echolette fast speed patch that we programmed a while back (and is of very limited use) so there would then be room for both of the last two patches which I think will be far more useful. I have already made a list of around 125 Hank and Shadows tunes and sorted out which patches they will use. When the patches are completely finished and set in stone I will try to make some demo recordings. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie! This sounds fantastic. My wife is going to buy me one of the new units, for which you already have me down as a first batch buyer. Very exciting! I can't wait! As it happens, we have an anniversary after Christmas and she would love to buy me an HCEU for that! One idea has sprung to mind! If the unit included some amp emulation and associated eq, might it be possible to have a headphone socket on the unit? Mono in both ears obviously, but what a blast for private practice! If not, the neighbours are just going to have to lump it! It will be awesome! You are clearly an extremely clever chap! Well done. Milko

Hi Milko, The unit is an echo unit only and the design is fixed and has been very much the same since the early days of its development. So there is no amp emulation or headphone socket. But you could connect the guitar to the echo unit and from there to any of the available amp sims that does have a headphone socket. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie! Thanks for that information. That sounds an excellent idea. I've got an old Pod2 knocking around which will probably do for discrete practice. My AC 15 likes to talk a bit loud! Many thanks, Milko

Hi Rob, I have been told that there should be 4 models ready in about 2 weeks. If these pass all tests then they will have the first 4 serial numbers but they will not be for sale immediately. We may even end up keeping all 4 for ourselves. If eventually offered for sale they will cost more because they are costing more to produce than the next production models will cost. I have been told that the first production models for sale could be ready about 5 weeks after we give the OK. That of course will onlty happen if we are happy with the first 4 units. Sorry that it is not looking like there will be any for sale for a few more weeks but I do think it will be worth the wait and I hope everyone else will think so too when they get hold of one. Regards, Charlie

Hi Steve, I haven't contacted Hank about it as I don't think he will be very interested, especially as it is a pedal and not a rack unit. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, thanks for the info! No worries , I'm patient enough to wait a few weeks or months more, so no problem.... Well now I have a new date to look forwards to get these gem's on my doorstep....my birthday in February.... Thank you for the excellent work so far Charlie! In The Netherlands we have a saying, "de laatste loodjes wegen het zwaarst" (direct translation is)The last weights are the heaviest! Best regards Rob

Hi Charlie Do You think it is possible to build in the components from the pedal in a rack unit ? /Bertil

Hi Rob, Thanks for your enthusiasm and support!
Hi Bertil, No, it would not be possible to put the components in a rack unit. Just one reason would be that the control pots are in the wrong place. We are thinking about a rack unit with MIDI control and studio balanced inputs and outputs, depending on how well the pedal does. It is highly unlikely that the patches would be different, as I feel the patches we have now are good enough.

Hi scooterjd69, About £600, probably just under that. Not just better than the Magicstomp. Shouldn't really even compare with anything on my list. It's that good! As I have said some time back, no one should be taking my word for it, wait until you hear it. Regards, Charlie

Well Charlie , I for one, am happy to take your word for it , I would gamble that your not the type of person to say things lightly or put your name to anything not quite up to scratch, looking forward to buying your unit:

Hi Frank, Thanks for your confidence in what I say. I am gigging tonight, just for an hour with Mark who was the lead singer in The Rock Island Rebels. I will be using my prototype Hall & Collins echo and will be playing two Shadows numbers, FBI and Wonderful Land. Another patch is a Brian Setzer RE-301 setting which sounds excellent for a rock and roll slap echo so I will be using that sound quite a bit. Regards, Charlie
