HI TO ALL ,, WELL talk about ''brain-fade'' for the last 2 -3 weeks I have been battling with tone , over sharpness on the top E & A strings & have become frustrated ,,I use the tone/lab ''before'' my echo unit,Q2 or m/stomp & when I got the tone/lab originally many month's ago I had a good sound [to me] & I can't remember where I had the ''line out-amp''switch set ,but somewhere along the line I must have changed it .. I dicovered tonight after it coming to me.[actully in bed as I do a lot of my thinking that way] that using it[T/L]in front of the echo units ,is much like plugging into the amp .. And as today not had the chance to try it out ,I found time tonight &'' whamo'' the sound is back with the tone lab set to the amp setting ,I was losing faith in the [T/L] untill this discovery ...as it was previously ok.. I think the reason that it escaped me was the fact that I have been switching unit's around in the chain trying different routing & some where in the process the switch ,somebody moved & never put it right again ,& that somebody was ''ME'' !!!!!!!!!! THE difference is like ''chalk & cheese'',on the line out setting the sound is ''brittle'' & is ok when feeding into a line in situation as the comp that i use etc etc .. So I am pleased to find the problem at last ,as the guitar w/out the [T/L] was ok but it is much better with it.. CHEERS from a semi-dementured ozzie.......................barry..

Hi Barry, Glad you sorted it. It can be difficult for us to help sometimes because we're not in the same room hearing it with you. Regards, Charlie

Hi Barry
I think most of us have been in your situation at some stage. My advice is, when you get a sound you like, write down all the settings, mike placement, room used, etc..... and leave a glass of milk out for Santa ;D

HI SPIKE , yes you are right in what you say ,but I am a bit ''slap-happy''here in my own little world & some times ,well you overlook things, this little slide switch is at the rear of the T/L,& easy forgotten ,some times I can't see ''the-wood-for -the-tree's'' It caught me out big-time .. I was blaming every thing else? ... WELL mate it's good to see &hear your music files on here, and the comment's from your ''GURU'' ''TVS'' PAUL,as well ..I take it paul has his nose to the ''grind-stone'' on the ''TVS's, as even on the perth-site,I don't see many comment's from him. ? Well ''spike'' that bottle you are leaving out for santa is for him only ,,DON"T go sampling it prior to his arrival..HA.HAAR.. CHEER's & BEERS .to you mate ''HAVE A ''GOOD'' ONE''.......................barry..

Hi Barry, Glad you sorted it. It can be difficult for us to help sometimes because we're not in the same room hearing it with you. Regards, Charlie HI charlie ,, well I have to say this problem has been a learning curve for me ,I am usually very concious of these matter,s ,but for some reason It did not ''click'' with me ,I tried all manner of configarations,,ASKED help from you as well of others etc. well all seem's to be ok now & it makes me realise why some of us get dissapointed with various types of effect's,that are perfectly ok in reallity ,it's sometimes just that we have not placed them in the right order not considering ''impediences'' etc,etc.. WELL ''CHARLIE'' I was going to start a new thead with these following comment, but here goes.. I know we thank you for your advise in most cases as you reply to our many, many queries... BUT I would like to thank-YOU & ALL contributing member's as well for all the ''help'' given on this site over the'' nearly'', over year.. Your input to this site must be a huge task as well as the running of your own interest's,as I know you burn a lot of ''midnight oil'' to cope with it all.. MAY 2009 be a prosperous year ''business- wise'' for you charlie, and I am sure that the way that this ''site'' is running It will give you back the reward's you deserve.. sincerly.....................................barry..

Hi Barry, Thanks for your good wishes and I am sure that this site will run well from now on. The question of impedances is usually solved for us with most pieces of equipment especially pedals, having high input impedance and low output impedance. You can always connect a low impedance output to a high impedance input. For things like guitar pickups, magnetic tape heads, and anything else that has inductances and capacitances (like the Q2 and Q20 input capacitors for example) thrown into the equation, then you have to be more careful about matching things up. Regards, Charlie
