Thanks guys re youtube. Sandra, have now downloaded Author and it has the youtube icon. I have to move out of our home today for approx. 6 weeks while earthquake repairs are being done, so I'll get back to you in a few days when we get set up in our temp accommodation. Cheers Norm

You can actually purchase record and cassette players that plug directly into the computer USB port and transfer your music directly to the computer hard drive. I have not tried this system but it could be an option. cheers norm

Hi guys, i am just an amateur guitarist playing at home for my enjoyment. I visit this site perhaps twice a day just to see what i can gain from the experience of others. Hey a couple of well respected members may have had a disagreement over the interperatation of what was said or not said but lets shake hands, forget about it and get on with what Charlie and this site is all about, friendship, discussion and our love for music. Hang in there Charlie i'm sure all members think like i do.

Just in the process of transfering some old CD's to hard drive. One tune that caught my eye is ITALO ROCK artist SALVO. That wouldn't be our Salvo would it. Doesn't sound like him but the CD is years old. Cheers Norm

Thanks guys for your answers, collectively you have answered my question. I thought that when playing music from a portable hard drive it stored it on the computer drive and kept it there taking up storage space. Apparently not. Thanks guys cheers norm

hi guys thanks for your replys. i have about 150gb of music which takes a lot of my existing hard drive space and i thought there must be a simplier way ie by way of a portable hard drive with its own programme. I hope i'm making it clear - i'm not that computer literate. cheers norm

Hi guys, i purchased a 1 terabit portable hard drive to store all my music etc. Is there a stand alone program i can put on this drive to play, organise etc the music without having to use windows media player, real player etc. I would like to have my music organised so that i can plug into a computer and use the portable hard drive program. Does this make sense? cheers norm

Thanks for your replys, i was just curious to see if it was the real McCoy .Thanks Didier for your explanation on how these things are meant to work. Jeff, thanks for your invite but i'm a bit far away for a visit like the other side of the world. By the way i'm still looking for that elusive small amp i want.
Have a great Xmas guys and keep safe. Cheers Norm.

hi guys,The Vox Jamvox. One of its many features (according to internet reviews) is to remove the lead guitar so one can play along with the backing track. I am very sceptical about these claims and wonder how the tracks sound with say Hank Marvin or Duane Eddy removed. Has anyone any experience with this system. Just curious as i don't think anybody has come up with a sure fire method of removing lead guitar or vocals. cheers norm

Thanks guys, I'll take what you say on board and do a bit more research. By the way has anyone tried one of these new Fender Champ reissue amps. They're not due in NZ 'til next year but i think the price will be way out of my league. cheers norm

Thanks guys for your response. I did fancy having a go at building an amp up from a kit but maybe it might be better if i looked at the fender 600 as sugested. The fender champ reissue is far too expensive but would have been ideal for my purpose. Living here in NZ the options are a bit limited when you pay freight costs etc for overseas gear such as the kits, as it adds quite a bit to the overall cost. It saying that there are plenty of small amps available from all the big names. No rush so i'll keep looking. cheers norm PS Everyone have a great Xmas and hope you all get plenty of goodies in your santa bags.

Hi guys, anyone had any experience with Weber Amps or Mojo Amps both located in USA. I am looking for a small class A amp Fender Champ type and doing a internet search these guys came up. The amps are sold in kit form but the Weber amps can be assembled before dispatch for a price. If anyone has had dealings with or have this type of amp could you please post anything relevant regarding sound quality and service. cheers norm

hi guys, anyone had any hands on with this new amp. It has amp modeling plus a wide range of effects etc. I was thinking it could be ideal for home use as it is low powered, plug for earphones, aux input as well as mains plus battery powered. I have yet to see one. cheers norm

Hi Peter, the fender 63 reverb boss pedal is a digitial emulation of the 63 reverb spring reverb fender first on the market in the '60's. My advice if it's worth anything is to go and try before you buy. There are sound files on the net available so do a search on this pedall and have a listen. I think it is well worth the money. cheers norm

Hi clive, well i got mine back today and what a difference its made. The difference in tone & sustain is quite remarkable. It actually sounds quite "acoustically" when unplugged from the amp. I also have the vintage type saddles from Callaham as well. The reasoning behind better tone etc is the block is made of better quality steel and is machined rather than cast. The saddles are stamped steel rather than cast. I got the shorter tremolo arm which is 3/4 inch smaller than the standard arm. Would recommend this product. PS the vintage style saddles look better too. cheers norm
