Hi Kay...……...He's never shown the slightest interest in music, let alone guitars.
We bought him the last year they were allowed to be imported live. Our son was five and he's now 50 ,so the tortoise is more than 45. The tortoise (Floyd...after go get 'em Floyd) cost £1.50. He Hibernates in the garden ( this is the 5th garden he's lived in) digging himself underground around mid October and resurfacing early April.
On a point you made earlier, the main guitar used is the G&L Comanche. The Z pups are totally noise free, and it has a push pull tone control which allows all 3 pups together, or neck and bridge together. A fine guitar but I now find the neck a bit too chunky for my aging hands ,and at 9lb its very heavy.

Hi Kay,
Haven't used box for a long time but the link works fine if I click on it and my account with them is active as I use it for other purposes.
I've edited the link. Is seem to remember a long time ago some problem over http versus https.
perhaps you could let me know if there's still a problem.

Hmmmm!!!..........for me the PRS neck and strat body look totally unsuited to each other........... A sunburst body with grain visible would perhaps look more compatible. There's obviously a lot more to these guitars than the looks however but I wonder how different these can sound compared to the existing PRS single coil/bolt on models. John Mayer is undoubtedly a great judge of the finer details of the tonal characteristics of a guitar. I am always impressed by his superb touch in the majority of his recorded material and he's a fine fingerstyle player as well. Don't think I'll be ordering one just yet. Baz PS having checked the PRS website they seem to have dropped the previous single coil bolt on.....cant remember the model # but definitely recall Guitarist reviewing them............ PPS The 305

Thanks guys.............I do have a cakewalk account which I haven't accessed for sometime...........when I eventually got into it sure enough it showed my product registered as Sonar X1 LE and offered a "Mirror image " download. This got to within the last few seconds of completing when a "Access denied" message appeared and aborted the whole thing. I've sent Cakewalk a message asking what's up. Gary ........will checkout Ardour if necessary...Thanks Baz

Hi Len..............I've used Audacity quite a lot for final polishing of a song and converting WAV to Mp3 files.
Considering that its free its a great piece of kit but it does not have one particular feature I need.
I currently use a BOSS BR800 for most of my recordings (which is a great portable 4 track recorder amongst its other features), but the feature which Audacity doesn't support is that the BOSS can be linked to a PC and act as a control surface for all the major functions. Amongst hardware recording units I think the only other unit offering this is ZOOM 24.
Amongst the major DAW systems REAPER is the most cost effective I can find that has this capability.
Thanks for your input.

Hi Bill...............Cakewalk and Sonar seem to be virtually defunct since Gibson bought them out...............I tried writing all the files to a UBS stick and then transferred them onto the C drive of my new PC........but Sonar wouldn't launch properly. I've decide to opt for REAPER which is highly rated and only costs $40 for a home use licence. Thanks for your help. Regards Baz

Hi...........for me personally I'd not hesitate to consider a PRS.
I've had an SE Santana for many years and its a joy to play.
You'd need to check the spec out of several models as they do a wide range of pickup configurations and some are with trem, some hard tail,
Good luck.

Written as a song,( and soon to be recorded by my current band featuring our excellent female vocalist Kate Rushton) I thought I'd knock up this Instrumental version and invite your opinions as to whether it works. (or not) Lead guitar is a new Shergold SM1. acoustic a Babicz Identity, bass a Farida PB, Yamaha keyboards. Still using a BOSS 1200CD recorder on which all the percussion has been created. Brazilian NightBrazilian Night BTRegards to all Baz PS........please fee; free to download the BT........there's a slight glitch in it which shouldn't be a problem if you play over it

I have small hands which I think naturally inclines me towards lower radii boards but for me I find 9.5 " a great compromise as it still enables bending up to a tone without choking. Baz

Now obtained from "the Wee Guitar Shop"..........(they don't say what size a "Wee " guitar is. ) As Phil C has posted, in normal use there is little need for this type of lead; but the other guitarist in my band has a early Telecaster on which he refuses to have any parts replaced. The jack socket has developed wear over the years which means that he can get signal dropout when a normal jackplug momentarily loses contact with the socket........This type of plug keeps firm contact and has solved the problem. Looking at Planet Waves website, Looks like they may have dropped them anyway. Baz

Thanks Guys.
Have now found that Planet Waves have a new generation of these plugs for instrument cables which are described as having compression springs built into the main shaft and a search on "the site that shall be nameless" has provided one or two suppliers.

I have a 10 foot Planet Waves cable which has jack plugs with special raised areas on the main shaft to keep the jack central in the input socket.
I've been trying to get another for use in my band's studio but can't trace a UK stockist.
Any Ideas please?

Hi..........from the same Roland stable as the Boss the cube range are compact and give a good tonal sound. I use a 80 GX for live gigs in a 9 piece band and It holds its own.
