Hi Dave and all, I have added 'Recent Threads' to the top menu :-) Bill Thank you for all your work, Charlie & Admin folks . I fully understand that the changes were due to the ProBoards host. In the new format I was missing my favourite old top-menu 'Recent Threads' hot-link that I always use after logging in but now I've found it (or its equivalent). <snip> The new top menu bar does have the 'Recent Posts' hot-link but it lists 'by posts' (obviously!) and not my preferred 'by threads (or topics)'. Cheers, Dave.

Hi Charlie and Bill, Thanks for all your hard work on this, and although it did catch me out when I first logged on after the change,It is a much cleaner looking page now, just a couple of inquiries....... and this may be just a "Blonde thing"......what are the little white box's for that appear next to a post that you can check/uncheck ?? and second the blue male/pink female sign's under you pic or avatar are missing on some, yes I know that most members will know, by your name or picture but the were a nice thing to include any suggestions would be most welcome.
Kindest Regards Kay

Hi Kay, It looks to me like you can select a thread (not a post though as far as I can see) by ticking that box. You can also select at the top of tha page with "All " "None" "Read" or "New". Then you can apply an Action, also at the top of the page. The Actions that appear will depend on what you have selected. I am not sure though whether different actions can apply to different threads or not. I don't think it's something I would use. If anyone can explain it better than I have done then please do so. As to whether the blue male or pink female signs appear depends on whether the member specified one or the other in their profile. I don't think we should force members to fill that part of their profile in if they don't want to. Hi all,
To make page navigation slightly easier we have added a little arrow head to the centre right hand side of the browser window just at the edge of the forum border.
If you left click on it when it is pointing down you will be taken to the bottom of the page.
If you left click on it when it is pointing up you will be taken to the top of the page.
Bill

As long as I can read it, how it looks is unimportant to me, however, I do miss the 'view new topics/replies' thing - a lot more convenient than trawling through all the different sections. Cheers, Julian Hi Julian, Is the feature "Recent Posts" that I showed sandra any use? Regards, Charlie Hiya Charlie, It does. Consider me a happy bunny Cheers, Julian

Hi Charlie, To 'unlike' a post just click on the 'thumbs up' button again. Bill Hi Chris, I had noticed that and would like the next page stuff at the bottom too. Until that is possible, if ever, I haven't found yet how to jump back to the top, how do you do it? Regards, Charlie Edit: I thought clicking on the hand with the pointing finger would take me to the top, instead I have ended up liking my own post. Anyone know how to unlike a post?

Thanks for all your feedback and comments, and thanks Bill for helping me with the like/unlike switch. I think we have everything covered that needs to be done, and I'm very pleased with the site as it is now.
Even my most missed feature of being able to jump to the earliest unread post of a thread has been addressed, as it was there all the time, you just simply click on the "New" icon that shows on a thread listing!
Regards, Charlie

Thanks for the update Charlie - I do prefer it - especially replacing that funny font you used for login etc - made my 60 year old eyes go squint! Ed

Hi Ed, Glad you like it, thanks. I don't remember the funny font though, as I am permanently logged in. I should think it was automatically changed during the update. Regards, Charlie

Hi Pete, Thanks for drawing attention to this. I didn't know. Has this been since the upgrade or even more recently than that? The cog wheel gives me a "Moderate" option which has a sub menu item "Delete" so I can delete posts, so maybe Proboards intends for staff only to delete posts? I don't know, unless anyone can let me know if they have seen the "Delete" option since the evening of Jan 1st (GMT time) when the upgrade took place. For now, if you want to delete one of your own posts you can request admin to do it for you. Regards, Charlie

Hi Pete, I believe that when you are viewing the thread that your post is in, clicking the cog at the top right of your post should give you a drop down menu with the option to 'delete post'. It does for me. Please let us know if that isn't the case for you. Bill Hi Charlie In the post edit there no longer seems to be a facility to 'delete' the post. or am I just not seeing it. Pete

Hi Pete, Thanks for confirming. I think that menu changes depending on where you are in the forum or what you are doing, nothing to do with age Bill Hi Bill & Charlie Thanks I see it now.I thought I checked that before but then it could be a age thing.
