Just a heads up advising the unit's been very favourably reviewed in this month's issue.

I hope it will published in the Dutch Gitarist (a joint venture publication of the GB Guitarist, because of that it's almost impossible to purchase a British version)... So hopefully someone put a copy of the article on this site Cheers Rob

Hi Rob, I'm not sure I can allow a copy of the review on the site but I'll see what can be done. I have been told from a friend who has it on subscription that it reads well. Meanwhile, I have to wait until Friday for mine, according to WH Smith. Regards, Charlie

Hi Nick, I saw the Summer edition in WH Smith today and it did also have a number but I can't remember what it was. I remember the price a bit better, it was over £6! Regards, Charlie

So that is 1 percent of the value of the unit itself! Don't buy too many copies!

Just a little thought.. Now that the HCSE exists..any plan to participate at NAMM 2016 to bring it to the world that still has not met this pedal?? That would boost some sales and change the guys that play different echo. SHeendigs

Hi Nick, I hadn't thought about that! I was hoping it was the bigger looking (I think) Summer issue that was the reason for that price.
Hi Sheendigs, I think we need to get it known through magazines first.

Hi Charlie Sure the magazine will bring out the general info. As NAMM 2016 is not very far..that would be a nice promotion. (Yes, I know it involves preparation and booth reservation - which must not be cheap). Anyway, it was only a wild suggestion, with this world of today..electronics change quickly. Sheendigs

I can say that this unit is already known on some sites in the USA - with favourable comments - just can't remember which at the moment, but the comments do say that iit is much more than just a Shadows machine, so that bodes well for Charlie and quite right too!

Hi Charlie,
I think if you Google your unit with the word "review" and keep scrolling you may find it - not on my computer at the moment, but clearly the word is spreading - even before the official review is out. Well deserved too!
All the best,
Nick

Hi Charlie,
What I saw on the US sites were favourable comments rather than formal reviews - like the one Scanners pointed to. Got to be good that it is getting known over there.
We will all be in W H Smith on Friday!
All the best
Nick

Good find Sandra,
The unit isn't done justice for playing the Shadows & Meazzi era type sounds...which is the reason I bought one. On the basis of that revue, I wouldn't be considering to pay £600 for one and I doubt many others would either. It really needs a review with a guitarist who plays "our" type of music to fully highlight what the unit is all about.
Kind regards,
Chris

Hi chris
Must agree with you I thought the unit did sound good though and the core sound on the demo was there even though there was no strat and no shads style of playing. I guess its done to show its more diverse but there should have been a bit of shads playing aswell

I think the pedal deserves to be reviewed for different genres of guitar styles. I haven't really had the time to realise its full potential away from Shadows material, but have been delighted at what I have achieved in the live situation. I don't think that review did the pedal justice. It may come across OK in the written review!
Jim.

Well, I must confess I put up some links to the HCSE unit on the American surfguitar101 website under the pseudonym of guitarrockingrobin. I just wanted those American surf guys to know that there is more out here in Instrumental Land than reverb and twang. The HCSE is so versatile with all it's vintage sounds and I felt that they needed to know that on the other site of the pond. (can I get a discount now, Charley?) The demo shows that it emulates not only that Shadows sound but can be used for some other styles of guitar music as well. It's just a pity that they didn't include any real Shadows song in the demo for that's the audience the HSCE is aimed at IMO.

I have to agree that the video demo does not represent Shadows sounds at all well, but most of us already know about the unit, so any sales potentially lost to Shadows players will hopefully be minimal, and I am hoping the demo might promote the unit as having possible uses for other styles. Regards, Charlie
