Charlie: After giving the three statutary verbal warnings and in order to avoid paying redundancy penalties, I have today given a final 30 days notice to quit, in writing, to my Magic Stomp as its *happy birthday to you* wasn't as happy as your* happy birthday to you* I trust that it will have a pleasant retirement in the cupboard with all its G2 and G2 1u predecessors among others that I am too embarrassed to mention. R.I.P. Ahhh well, upwards and onwards , roll on the new H&C unit Hope all is well, Regards, Frank.

Hi Frank, That is funny. As good as the Magicstomp is for what it is, you will however find you are right when you compare the Hall & Collins with it. I don't think I would have ever considered doing a demo of Happy Birthday with any EFTP unit. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, I hope you are well, and looking forward to Spring, and a bit of good old Fahrenheit, like the rest of us who are fed up with the cold weather! I just read another thread entitled 'Hank in a Pedal', and was thrilled to read that you still hope to have the new Hall & Collins unit on sale by the end of March. That is very heartening news indeed! It was also good to read, that quite apart your your always incredibly accurate echo patterns, that the new unit emulates the peculiar electronic, and thus sonic characteristics of the venerable Meazzi Drum echo units. I've always assumed that the subtle peccadillos of the old Meazzi, were indeed absolutely intrinsic to the charm of 'That Sound' we all love so much. And I think that you have confirmed this also. Well done Charlie!! It sounds as though you have absolutely nailed it, once again! Im sure that this new unit will just blow us all away; necessitating a total rethink of Shadows Echo emulation systems. I just can't wait! Bring it on! Thank you for all the hard work which has gone into the development of the new H&C unit. There are rather a lot of us thinking the same! Kindest regards Milko

At the moment, yes. There is currently a hold up with the metal casings, I think to do with the painting and artwork. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie You have recorded a tune with the little vox amp.. Did you mike the speaker or the output on the side of the amp? Please show me the tune again, if possible?? Thanks Sheendigs

Hi Sheedigs, My AC1 has two small speakers and is not at all modified. I will explain that the ribbon microphone I used has a strong proximity effect, ie. there is more bass when it is close to the sound source. I removed some bass from the guitar track after recording to compensate for this. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, Hopefully your feeling better after that darn flu like miserable feeling of last week and more. Over here me and Anja had the same for the last couple of days....so we know how it feels I was wondering is there any news about the H&C unit, because the end of march is at the horizon and so far no picture or a sign of life of the definite unit. Is the end of next weeks still on the map or will it be a later date the unit will be available? Would love the a picture Regards Rob

Hi Rob, I think you may have missed this post by Charlie on March 13, 2015 charliehall.proboards.com/post/166780Gives us each a bit more time to titrate the optimum dose of tranquilliser........as we eagerly anticipate this release We've waited this long, a few more weeks shouldn't really hurt......much! Still, I agree, a nice set of piccies now could help to whet our appetites in the meantime as we struggle to supress our cravings for ownership of this masterpiece of audio engineering. Regards. Mike

Thanks Mike,
I missed that old thread that got bumped to the top.... Well one month doesn't make a big different after all these times indeed. I promised a few friends (all echo collectors with more then a dozen Meazzi echo's) a "gloves off battle" at my place with all there best machine's.... even a few very early in a wooden housing. So I have to postpone that again....they will laugh and called me chicken again LOL
Cheers Rob

Hi Rob, I think I am nearly over the worst of the flu. It has been 3 weeks so far. There is quite a lot happening with the new unit. There should be a new website starting around the 10th April. Production will begin shortly after that, and the first units should be ready for sale around the end of April. I will be emailing everyone on the list fairly soon. Regards, Charlie

Hi Rob, In practise, the manufacturer will probably build around 30-40 units per week. So, at the start, there will of course be no units, then maybe by the end of the month they might have built 100 units. From what I have been told, it is not going to be possible to have no units on one day and then the full quota ready to sell the next day. Also, they might hold back on supplying any units until they have built quite a large number of them, otherwise, some customers are going to get their unit before others. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, where will the new echo units be made, in the UK or elsewhere? Thanks

Hi fab1, They are being manufactured entirely in the UK. Early on we did consider other options, but in the end, we decided to go this way. The website for the new unit will be up and running fairly soon. Regards, John
