Hi Charlie Thanks for the reply. It was another guy in the shop this time who set up guitar, I was with him for two & a half hours doing the guitar. Adjusted the Saddles for about 45 mins approx, raised and lowered Pickups / Stretched the Strings / Checked the nut and tuning heads only thing not done was to Tighten the Tremelo Bridge he mentioned that doing that would stop out of tuning while using the Whammy Bar. As I said another later version Fender sounded good, even the "G" string..which again was giving trouble once again on my guitar......

Hi Ronnie, Did he check the neck relief? This is the straightness of the neck. It should in fact have a very slight bow. Did he talk about the guitar while he was working on it, as to whether he thought it should be a good one or not? Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, Yes he did Check the Neck and mentioned the "Bow" he did say what he was doing each time he corrected something, His view on the Guitar was Positive , but being I bought it from his Boss in another Branch before opening this New Mega Store, I guess his view on the Guitar was Okay.. The Other Fender Strat American Custom version was about €1050 euro and 54`s was mentioned, but it sounded like what I expect my Guitar to Sound, the other guy who had been Setting Up my Guitar other times said that I would be "Stepping Sideways " if I was to think of Trading In for the Demo Guitar, So Charlie I am Totally Confused, having had 2 Guys dealing with my Guitar, .

Hi Ronnie, Some of us think the Custom Shop 54 pickups sound a bit thin. me included. It is easy to be impressed by something initially but that doesn't mean you would necessarily be totally happy with the same thing. If the guitar itself is well set up and has good resonances between the body and the neck, that counts for a lot. Regards, Charlie

Thanks Charlie
Not sure what next to do.... Unless Pickups need changing. The Strat I have is 1999 version.

Hi Ronnie, When you were in the shop did you compare your guitar with the custom shop one acoustically? If they sound about the same like that then a different set of pickups could be a good idea. If your guitar sounds very different compared with the other, with both unplugged, then you might be wasting money on pickups and might do better to change the whole guitar for another. But I really can't advise more than that without seeing your guitar, or someone who knows when a guitar is good or not sees it. To be honest I think you have done all you can with the shop, you should be looking for someone different to look at it. Regards, Charlie

Hi Ronnie. I was in here a couples of weeks ago and tried to help and have followed this to see if the problems will be solved, but not and that is very sad. One thing don't to forget is, the electric guitar is a acoustic instrument with electric amplification and it should sound good on its own to be able to sound good together with the Amp. What is a good sound without the amp Hard to say, you have to be experienced to be able to tel. To me it should sound nice and clean no other sound than the string sound, the frets can make a little noise if it have a low action, but that will be gone when it is amplified, no scramble no dead spots no dead strings, string sound should be even and equal strong, all should be there that you want to hear when it is amplified. If you know someone that is pro or experienced electric guitar player let him/her play it and I am sure that direct they can tel what is the problem. Music stores is selling ....... Kind Regards, 26rednef

Hello Ron I just have read-ed all the nice comments to advice and help you. Now after all those months your problem is still not solved, with all respect Ron I think you have to blame yourself, if I was you and had the same problem I would have contacted Charles (CC). Than your problem was solved by now and you could play. We are all guitar friends and always ready to help, but IMHO Charles is in this case the best solution for you to get. If you really want help to solve the problem? Take his offer with your both hands, he's a nice guy (just as all the others guys here) and knows all the in and outs to setup all the things right. Go for it Ronnie....stop playing is not an option. Sorry for my English. Regards Jan
