Hi Charlie,
Yes, logging in does seem a bit pointless at present, although I suppose it would accord a certain exclusivity to those who sign up. Perhaps the intention is to provide product support only to those who hold legitimate licences and having to log on is a necessary prerequisite before a request can be accepted. However, as things stand there is, as yet, no obvious Hardware Support area by the Manufacturers. Is it possible that the Manufacturers may be considering the inclusion of a Support Forum?
To me, the site software feels like it is still undergoing development which is perfectly understandable at this moment in time. I was able to Sign Up and activate my account by clicking on a link sent to me by email. Subsequent logins have proved successful and my Username is displayed. However, currently there is no obvious way to access my profile to make changes or additions. Nor can I change my password.
Right now none of these observations are serious issues, but will certainly become important once the HCSE is RTM.
I suppose the question to be asked is who is being tasked with the provision of Customer Support? Will it be shared between Electromech Ltd. (Hardware Support) and Charlie Hall & Friends (Operational Questions, User Guidance and Posting of Sound Files)?
Regards, Mike

Hi Mike, Yes, I think you have got it right. As far as I understand, support will be shared between Electromech and John and myself. I would think of this site as another area of support. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, Confirming that I have received your much awaited e-mail.
On a personal note of thanks to our very own modern day 'Henry Ford' of Meazzi's for bringing to market an affordable, reliable, updated echo unit that by all accounts should find its way hopefully into thousands of musicians Gig bags & for giving us EFTP over the years, giving the budding Hank Marvin's the correct echo timings & a basic 'That Sound' whilst catering for so many differing echo machines as well. Charlie Hall O.B.E.?. That gets my vote. Thanks Charlie & John.
Respectfully John

Hi John, Thanks. The aim certainly was to get the best sounding unit we could for a sensible price. It is actually a lower price than EFTP was selling new Q2 and Q20 units for 15 to 20 years ago. Regards, Charlie

Hi Mike and Santionetetwo,
Important information – registration/login is not required on the new Hall and Collins Signature Echo website.
Regarding the Hall and Collins site, Charlie and I have had a message from the website administrator – the login facility was accidentally left active. No-one is required to register on the site. The login is only intended for the administration/and quick editing of the site. Here is an extract of the note we received from them; “Those that have registered will now find there logins will not work as I have deactivated all the accounts and removed the ability to create new accounts. You may want to let people on the forum know this. Sorry for the oversight and any confusion caused.”
Regards, John Collins

Hi Charlie,
I received your e-mail and today the e-mail from the manufacturers. That e-mail asked me to reply to it directly and confirm my order and give certain information. Needless to say I did so immediately. However, in typing the reply, I found it next to impossible to see what I had typed because the background was very dark. I hope they will be able to read it, or have I done something wrong?
Regards,
Nick

Contrary to Nicks dark background message, my received support message/text is in typed in a yellow text. With little contrast to the lightup computer display, this makes it next impossible for me to read wanted information or type text to confirm my order. Regards, alisap

I got also a mail from the manufacturer.....the colour of the font they used is almost impossible to read against the (white)background. So I marked it with the left mouse button and I could read it..... Two things did make me uncomfortable... First how could they be seriously choose this font and colour...it looks like a cheap cut and paste job... And they are offering met just one unit...while (as far as I know)it's confirmed by Charlie the manufacturer is informed I want two units. They offer me a high serial number ... and with the message it's available in limited quantities.... They want my address , phone number to reach me to take payment... Secondly why no link to a safe secured webpage of the manufacturer with the choice to pay with your credit card or PayPal... Tin hat in place Cheers Rob

I assumed payment could be made via Paypal, I certainly do not give my credit card details over the phone, as it is not secure in any way?

Hi Charlie, Thanks for your mail! It did work very well in my environment.
But... I am using GMAIL and Chrome as my mail client. I got a mail from the manufacturer. I opened it didn't see anything. The whole message was white. When I selected the text I got the blue background and white text!!!?? As soon as I selected another field the blue background disappeared of course. This is ver very uncomfortable and I don't know how change it. Why not write a simple text to tell what information we have to provide for the delivery. We are all keen to get it asap so we do not need the ads.
The next thing is that the manufacturer shall give everyone a phonecall to get the payment information. It means that I have to be in the position to receive the call. If it is a mobile number it is easy to miss a call due to bad connection etc... How many tries will they do?
As mentionened earlier why not use a secured page and give the option to use PayPal. They will get all information they need.
Regards Bjorn

No credit card details over the phone. Why not invoice us through PayPal (at least for those of us that use PayPal)? rgds Soren

HI CHARLIE, I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MANUFACTURERS EMAIL BUT BY HIGHLIGHTING IT I WAS ABLE TO READ & REPLY TO IT. One thing that is slightly worrying is that it also says that "the transaction will show on credit card/bank statements as GOLF PURCHASE because we are using a partner company at this stage"... It is a proper registered company isn't it Charlie regarding the partner company? I would like to be sure before passing personal details over the phone. REGARDS John

I have received a response and I think all issues can be resolved. The emails show OK with HTML but not otherwise, so they will revert to more basic colours. For anyone who would like a clearer replacement, please ask them to send it again, or let me know. Other payment methods will also be possible. Just ask! Regards, Charlie

As far as I umderstand the Golf part of the business is run by a separate director in the same building and the guy who runs it has done all the emailing, so there will be no problem with the payments. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, Thanks for the clarification on some points. They shoot themselves in the foot with those colours for sure. I'll ask the folks why I'm only allocated one unit instead of two units.....and if they use PayPal. Hopefully they have, because asking customers there credit card details over the phone is so 1990's Cheers Rob

Hi Charlie! I hope you are well and enjoying a bit of down time now, after the birthing pains of the new Hall Collins Signature Echo. I received your own email regarding the unit, and indeed replied to it, as you know, but I haven't received the email from the manufacturers yet. Should I order one straight from the website, or will that confuse the issue, having been on your 'definite' list for a long time? From comments posted above, one might discern that there are possibly some teething problems over the ordering system? Early days yet, of course. Once again, well done, Milko

Hi Milko, The manufacturer knows you want one. They just haven't got round to emnailing you yet. About the email text mentioned earlier, that will be fixed for the rest of the emails they send and you should get normal black text on a white background! Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie,
I got a mail from Derek, and he's writing me, he had send me 2 mails....the second with two serial numbers....regretfully I only received one. I did let him know that and I confirmed the fact I want two units for sure.... Derek told me PayPal is possible for 5% extra!!
Cheers Rob

Hi Charlie, I'm in New Zealand, so giving credit card details over the phone isn't an option with the time difference and the unsecured nature of doing so. I see you said paypal is an option but 5% more!!!! I always use paypal to buy all my pedals from the US and UK but have never had to pay extra for the privilege. I really hope sales go well for you and John after all your hard work (you deserve it) but this ordering process is making me thing twice.
Cheers
Craig
