Hi Charlie,
Mine arrived safely early afternoon today. Very well packaged and everything appears perfect within. Haven't yet managed to get past the somewhat protracted period of admiration and stunned silence. Hopefully, I'll be able to move on soon and fire her up for her maiden workout this evening. Meantime, in case there should be any remaining doubts, the HCSE's success is assured as my wife has now given it her unqualified approval..yeah!
Charlie, once again, I offer you my heart felt congratulations! The partnership between yourself, John Collins and the good folks at Electromech and Golfstream is proving to be an unqualified success story. As others have stated, and saying this as a diehard Scotsman, it's times like this that make me so very proud to be British!
Very best regards, Mike

Hi Charlie,
My H&C arrived this afternoon. Very well packaged and built like a tank! I was also impressed by the printed box!
I've tried it out and can confirm that it sounds fantastic. It has that "something extra" in the sound that I've only ever heard on the old Meazzi units, and the echo "tail" is really special! I plan to demo it the Shadows club next week and I'm sure that it will go down really well even if I play my normal quota of bum notes!
Many thanks to you and all concerned in this venture. And what's more, It's British!
Best Regards,
Mike

Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm and kind comments, and I should also not forget the level of confidence you have all shown for John and myself, as well as the rest of the team, of course. Thank also to localhero for his good demo of Apache. It has saved me from worrying about getting my version out so quickly, which has been rather difficult with everything else to do. Regards, Charlie

Hi Steve, Thank you so much for making the demo. It is a very fair representation of what one should expect when going through the same initial experience. It was a very good idea to demo the dry signal compared to the sound direct to the amp too, as I could hear the difference distinctly, even on YouTube. Apache sounded great too! Regards, Charlie

Wow, Steve, what a fantastic demo! Thank you!
Believe it or not, mine (serial number 164) still resides in its box. Hopefully I'll have time later on today or perhaps this evening. I know, it may seem daft, but somehow anticipating what lies ahead is, for me, part of this great experience....and I'm loving it!!

Thanks for all the comments
Roger no I didn't use the eq pedal, I also set the tone controls on the Blackstar completely flat so not to discolour the sound

Hello Steve.Thank you ever so much for posting your demo. I received my H&C Echo yesterday and I opened the box and just so enjoyed just doing that for the moment as I am poorly in bed, so I can't try it out. I came on Charlies site this morning to see your demo and I'm feeling better already!! What a wonderful sound Charlie.
Much appreciated Steve.
Regards.Tuffty.

Thanks for doing this Steve - Will you be able to do one to show us how the user patches work so when I and others get ours next week we might hit the ground running? PhilB

Hi Phil
yes i should be able to do that, i have also been asked to do a video comparing the unit with my Meazzi aswell so time willing ill do both at the same time.
For those of you interested i put the EQ on the blackstar all at 12 o clock so as not to colour the sound.

Hi Steve, Just like to say thanks for taking the time to make the you tube video, and for all your help introducing the new unit on the forum. I thought your playing in Apache on the clip was excellent. Cheers, John

Hi john
Thanks very much, Id like to think my demonstration is impartial, I didn't edit the sound and didn't colour the sound with eq and reverb etc. My intention was to show a basic setup and let people decide for themselves If they want one or not. I'm pleased with it and am looking forward to using it for gigs etc. Well done should go to yourself and Charlie for your no doubt endless hours work etc.

Hi Steve, Yes it was a lot of work to get to this stage, and as you can imagine, a nervous wait while we find out how the unit is received. We really do want feedback (good or bad) - from gigging musicians and those who play and record at home. Thanks again for your honest review. regards, John

We really do want feedback (good or bad) - from gigging musicians and those who play and record at home. Thanks again for your honest review. regards, John I'm happy with the sound, it was as expected given I'd heard Charlie's first prototype played right next to a Meazzi with no noticeable difference to my ears. Mine was shipped with no hard copy manual (Derek is rectifying that) What I am missing is not having an on off switch on the unit itself, and although I have several EFTP documents that give advice as to which pick up to use for each recommended patch, I would prefer it was given on the relevant list....as it's a pdf file, most won't have the software to edit it. I'd have preferred the text for the editing controls to be in a place where I could read them without having to get down on my knees to read which is which, maybe on the red part just above the knobs would have worked better. The unit was well packed and delivered on time, but still not entirely happy that I was penalised for buying it with paypal. Kind regards, Chris

Hello, Enjoyed Localhero's rendition of Apache using the new unit- spot on. What amp did you use for it ?. I have a Fender modelling amp but can't seem to get the sound anywhere near as good as that so I'm thinking of getting another amp-probably a Vox. Any recommendations as to which. I don't really need an AC30 but have looked on line at the AC4, AC15, the new AC10 and the new Night Train comb. Wondered if anyone else has any experience of these in getting "the sound". regards, Derek B

Hi DerekB, my recording of Apache was done with the H&C plugged straight into my Macbook Pro using the Vox AC30 amp in Logic Pro 9 software. I use a Vox AC4 and it sounds just the same through that, as well as my Vox Valvetronix VT80, though the much less expensive VT-20 or less expensive still Pathfinder will give you the same sound.
